Title: I've got a brick! Help!
Post by: dragonmike on June 01, 2017, 10:20:32 PM
I was in the process of flashing my gpus. All was going well, but for the last one it seems. System crashed. Now won't boot when that card is plugged in.

The other cards in the rig seem fine. But how to I unbrick a card if the system doesn't boot when that card's plugged in?

Help!! :'(

plug in one working card in the first pci slot ( PCI-Express 2.0 x16 Slot) on the mobo , or use integrated gpu ,  connect the bad vga card via powered riser to the mobo , boot the pc.

Or you can try connect both cards via risers...
start atiflash , if you are lucky , atflash going to see the card.

What is your system spec?

Thanks - I managed to unbrick the card  by shorting pins 1 and 8 according to this guide: http://www.overclock.net/t/593427/how-to-unbrick-your-bricked-graphics-card-fix-a-failed-bios-flash/230

Anything else wouldn't work. Windows wouldn't even start even if I used on-board gfx.

Lifesaver that guide!

There is also an option to flash chip directly with programmer.
