For dailly trade first you need not think about high profit,5-10% profit is best in my openion.you need learn and research for  sometime about which coin you will buy.So i suggest you dont buy which coin will very high in 24 hours.just buy which coin remain same  place or (2-4% updown) for 1-2 days. After buying coin you must need to check the price when high or less always time because you want to dailly trade. when price will high 5%-10% it is the time for sell. For more information visit the thread, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=8.0

i think day trading is more difficult and risky  as compare to long term investment, in day trading you need to have good knowledge about the market and where you are going to invest your money for day trading. in trading you must have a decision power as most of the people missed the right time to purchase or sell bitcoin because they do not have strong decision power.

Day trader is similar with scalping method on forex trading, use short time period with little money and take profit only 5 - 10%. Do that repeatedly and you'll know how difficult it is. But you can try with demo account, just find a method you like and try it. Coin trade is only one way profit, meaning one chance to reach one profit. Practice first and never give up with the market. Good luck.

There are a lot of ways. Day trader just means that you dont hold onto positions overnight, which means you are looking at short timeframe charts and you're making all your decisions based on technical analysis. I would recommend you first gain trading experience and find out your trading style.

If you are typically a long trader then switching to day trading would really be a different story but the aspect and the idea is already the same which is sell high buy low but on day trading is more active since you do really need to observe and analyze coin movements on a particular day and you are not letting a floating trade. small percentage of profits would always be suggested as long we can make it constant the it still fine.

The first rule of day trading is, you should know that Technical Analysis is completely bullshit. The only situation where TA actually works is in all zoomed out/1week charts and this is where TA loses its meaning and turns into Fundamental Analysis.

So, what you are trying to do is purely based on your luck.

It is impossible to predict the movements of the markets in daily basis. You'll never know how many people with how much money is trading against your bet. Sharp movements can always occur and they may keep happening towards the same direction which you are betting against. You'll say; "that's it, it can't go higher than this and now i am selling", but it will go even higher and you'll get fucked.

Stay with long-term.

I am a self taught day trader. At first I lost almost $150 of investment. It took me 4months to learn the things I need to learn as a trader. Now on my 6th month as a day trader. So far got my 3x profit from my investment 2months ago.

Youtube your bestfriend. Find live trading tutorials there. Twitter and TradingView where I got most of my trading positions.

yes that is right, in fact day trading is more risky as compare to long term investment, in become day trader you need to have some good qualities that a day trader must have. for example a day trader must be a decision taker, as you are going to invest your money for a short period of time therefore you need to have the quality to take a right decision on right time. if you are feeling reluctant to take a decision then you cannot make profit from day trading but will most lost your money there.

You need to learn a lot before you start. I recommend babypips.com/school for rookies, it's about forex, but you also find there basic information about charts analysis.

Simply, you can be a day trader when you're doing trading daily. Day trader is mean you can make profit only with the short time like one day. It's different when you plan for long term investment, as a day trader you should make standard for daily profit and don't be greedy. Make it 20-30% of your funds.
No one will teach you step by step on how to be it, but you can use your analysis and due diligence to a coin for test, how it goes move daily.

Technical Analysis is not really going to help you succeed in day trading, specially if you do it with altcoins. people usually call it pseudoscience!
but i like the investopedia's articles about trading. they have pretty much everything and it is simply explained with enough details and information to make it easily understandable.

in day trading it is all about finding the most fluctuating market and buy in the dips and sell after it got out of it for profit. i am still learning trading myself so please share with us your success in the future.

Day trading is not an easy task. It is riskier than hodling a coin for long term because you are buying a coin on current price and sell it once it inflates a certain percenatage. It is risky because you need big amount so that you can have profit in small percentage and anytime the coin might dump hard.

Being a day trader is not that simple as well will not provide jackpot to profit big with small investments. It needs more knowledge and learning as well a good capital investment. Only then it's possible to make a good living, else going to day trade is ruining your life without a job.

Be careful... in bullish markets, it's sometimes better to just hold thatn to constantly buy and sell.

I've found that most Youtube video's on this subject either have incomplete or just factually incorrect information.
Investopedia is pretty good, but it's not really for everyone, I've found some better resources.

You must try to analize the demand of the coin. That has reflected how percentage of the volatility. To doing daily trade you must not be a greedy person.
Just try hit and run with your little amount. The successful trade depend on your analyzation. If you can grab the coin on the bottom of the red candle and you will be able to take your profit.
That's so difficult in my opinion. The daily trade has high risk.

Daily trading will be more difficult than holding long term, we can not every day trading because not necessarily market in a positive state. So it needs a good analysis in doing daily trading. And maybe if you want to get a good profit, it will be better with large amount. If you small amount of profit you get is very little, so better in large amount.

same with many replied before me OP, day trading is more difficult and more risky since you needed to have a lots of knowledge to predict what will be the next coins to pumped and what will be the trace, the simple logic here is to buy low and sell high you need to have more experience to understand the flow and needs some guts and willingness to lose your money if you mistakenly choose the wrong coins.

Title: Re: how to be a day trader?

There is no any to the point guide for day trading specially in crypto. There are few things you should remember when you are trading crypto for short term. Don't try margin trading with all your BTC, leave some in account so that your account will not be liquidated. Don't put all your BTC in one altcoin and don't follow any trading suggestion you may get in troll box. Don't trust any coin that have pumped quite hard overnight, big dump will be around the corner for such coin.

There is no any ultimate strategy, don't panic when you see big dump/correction and don't sell your coins for loss.

If you see it "really risky" to day trade this is how it will be for you. As for me I view financial markets especially forex trading and crypto currencies trading as a skillful game and if you can develop your skills? you eliminate the risk aspect of it.

I think to become a day trader and make profits in the trading, one should learn the trading and making the profits first and then he can further plan to reduce the active positions time. I believe that the best way to learn something is to start doing it on low levels and the gradually expanding the volume. First, start trading and consider the open positions for a period up to one week and then you can build some strategies to reduce the trade period without reducing the returns.

If you are having more free time, and suggesting you to become a trader but not a day trader. But probably day trading will be suitable for altcoin markets but if you are considering about trading bitcoin, I'm not seeing it is profitable for the efforts and researches you will be taking.

Bitcoin trading is most suitable for positional traders. You can buy bitcoin and hold them for some period to get big profits whereas day traders are facing mixed results even with bitcoin trading due to their day trading model.

I'm not such expert but from some my experiences and experienced of my friends I wouldn't suggest day trading if you are not experienced trader already. Day trading could be very profitable but it carries much biger risk than other trading methods and you can easily be found in situation where you can lose everything very quickly.

I think day trading is more riskier than long term holding.
Why?
Because almost all the coin has pumps and dumps in a day.
So it is important to know when to buy and when to sell.
For this you have to gain enough knowledge about trading analysis and other stuffs.
and always watch for whales.

Day trading is definitely a lot more riskier than long term holding. there are a lot of emotions that can affect your performance as a day trader and these emotions often times affect you and make you make irrational decisions, like holding onto your losses. Trading can be more profitable but there is a skill requirement that needs to be met first.

Learn about trading before you jump in. Learn about fundamental and technical analysis, and definitely about value investing.

Also practice trading before using real money. You can do paper trading here using this simulator: www.demoinvestor.com

Overall, be patient and keep a level head. Take your time and make sure you are very confident before you start using real money, or else you can cause yourself a lot of financial harm.

Good luck!

If you want to be a day trader then you need a lot of knowledge about the coin because you need to analyze the market and also try to make profit in every price movement of it. Day trading is a very risky kind of trading and it only suits to you if you will be a good analyzer of a coin and you have a lot of time to do that while if you don't have then just stick to long term trading.

In day trading, you must set your profit margin as 5% or 10% and as soon as you reach your target, immediately you should finish the trade and invest in another coin. You should not blindly follow the pump and think that sky is the limit for profit. You should be able to find the sudden increase in trade volume of a coin and invest in it.More over, you should invest in two or more coins so that you could adjust if the price of one coin falls down. You must analyze various charts provide in the exchange and analyze one hour chart, one day chart, three days chart to find the price movement.

Here I will suggest you to first get throughout study in the Google about the day trading job , since day trading jobs are not much profitable because in the today trading you need to buy and sell the coin whether you get profit or not.
Here I would like to suggest that first study and then start your trading with stable and better and reliable altcoins .
Because investment with the low famouse altcoins are less profitable but still the chances of loss are about 0% .
If you can hold the better altcoins then I am 100% sure that you will get earn money and will never loss a penny .
Here my suggestion for the more stable and better team work coins are dgb , bsd , NAV , Sia , creva , bcn , eth , dash , ripple , btc  .
If you can hold theses Alta then I am 100% sure that you will make 100 times more profit .

I've traded daily because I knew it profitable for me everyday but was very big risk is not much profit, so I turned to long-term investors. If you want to trade in the day should take the time to consult the technical analysis and market monitoring regularly. That will help you when you give a command buy / sell easier.

Day trading is risky and this type of traders are looking for few pips on daily growing market. On valatile markets you need to survive with day trading. Grabing pips is not good method in market. Looking for daily pips is for new traders which they feel themselves as traditional pip hunter. There isnt any "Holy Grail" method  in daily market movement.

If you are going to start trading with altcoin to bitcoin and vice versa. You might want to go to the altcoin threads like speculations or their own ANN threads to see how good this coins are now.
With enough knowledge you might be able to make a successful trade.
If it is day trading I think it is enough to monitor a certain altcoin movement or you could download an android application which have an alarm whenever it will hit the price you prefer.

I do day trade coins with high volume, you also need big amount to see your profit. Buy coins that are trending. Sample of day trading is i buy   1 sat sell 5 sats, or set buy order to @10 sats then set sell @15 sats.  Choose coins with small value with high volume where as they will give you more profit.

Ya true. Unless you know the basic price of bitcoin, you can't judge. How much, if you brought for particular price. If the price of bitcoin increased means, you should brought at the current price of bitcoin. You keep some margin to brought the bitcoin. For example, if the price of bitcoin is 5700$ means, you should not buy more than 5500$ to avoid the loss.

Research. Start low, learn. Do not put more money than you can loose. Always recover your investment before you put more money in. Play it smart and learn. It takes time. No one becomes a millionair over night. This is my rules !

I'm not an expert on trading or day trading or whatever, though from what I know There are couple of basic rules for being a day trader:

- Do the homework

You are always supposed to gather all the information before the day starts you should be well aware of all the news concerning any assets that's you want to buy. You are to get all the cryptocurrencies and than sell, while it's 4 o'clock in the evening. And you should know when and why the market is going

- Keep your hand on check

You have to stay aware of situation at any time to close the deal at the right time before it gets too late. Things can go wrong at any time, so stay tuned and be on great watch

- Be happy with what you have rather than with what you can get

Always close the good deal at the end of the day. Don't hold expecting it to grow or increase you have to get out before the exchange closes.

I hope that will give you a hint and you'll be a far better day trader in future

That is true, and we need to research and see how the chart is going, because if you are too quickly on making decision it can bite you, and keep in check of the chart every at least 30min

Don’t just depend on any speculation if you want to become a trader, learn to read charts and used different indicators. You have to think twice for this because trading is not that easy you will surely incur losses and you must be ready for that.
