Title: HIS 7970 Reference
Post by: Kennji on May 04, 2013, 12:01:27 AM
I got it for LTC mining... not BTC mining.

I cannot seem to get it over 500khash for LTC mining.

I do not want to BTC mine with GPU.

I am either going to return it to NewEgg (just came today) or sell it here for either LTC or BTC.

If you are interested, let me know.

I just got it today brand new ... so of course I have everything it comes with.

HIS brand 7970 reference card.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161399

That is the exact card I have.

** Shipping from Oregon.  I would prefer to deal with people closer to me.

Hello. $390 retail, minus $35 for the free game card you can sell on ebay (355). I can go halvsies on the restock fee. I offer $300 shipped to 54501, approx 3.1 BTC at the time of writing this. I have escrowed with John K. in the past. he is a moderator on this forum that does free escrow.

Or I can buy you Sapphire 7950 with reference cooler (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202030) and trade you 1:1 as people reportedly get higher kilohash with the 7950 instead of the 7970. I don't have first hand experience with this as I don't mine litecoins or any scrypt coin.

I am able to get 650 mhash pretty easily for BTC.  Temp around 78 degrees.

But I cannot get LTC over 550 range and 84 degrees ... WAY too hot.

78 is hotter than I like.

... as I don't mine litecoins or any scrypt coin.

Any reason why not?

Just curious.

I don't care for the voodoo required to get optimum hashrates with 50+ GPU's, especially when many of my GPUs cannot run at stock or higher memory speeds without crashing. I hate scrypt, and so do my GPUs
