LBRY is like an app or platform. Users can upload&share their content, whether is it videos, pictures or any other kind of documents. It is the most open, fair, and efficient marketplace for digital goods ever created. The content is hosted on a decentralized and distributed network. LBRY Credits, or LBC, are the unit of account for LBRY, which you can use to unlock&view the content. The content hosted on LBRY protocol can either be paid, or free to view. THE SUCCESS OF YOUTUBE? One of the reasons why youtube has became so popular was, because for the first time of human existence, you could expose yourself to the whole world. Without any big media backing or wealthy parents. The same goes for LBRY, but in addition to that, you will be able to sell that content to the public as well! Without any third parties taking their cut! ANYBODY can sell ANY kind of content to the WHOLE world! The platform will as well include an off-chain solution for micropayments ( small payments that would not be worth it on-chain due to the fees), which is one of the best options there is. People will be able to pay without being bothered. It is scientifically and psychologically proved that the biggest barrier is not that you could not afford/sacrifice your money for it , but the mindset of having to pay. With micropayments this barrier could be erased, people will not bother having to pay very small amounts in order to support the content creators. This is what every single platform wants to incorporate - from google to Facebook, yet LBRY's solution seems one of the best so far. LBRY APP - Digital Marketplace + Streaming Platform LBRY app is currently being developed by the official team and is currently in closed beta. Once the platform is ready, it will be available to open beta users. On LBRY you can host and sell almost any kind of files. They are hosted on decentralized network and all payments and distribution of the paid content is done through the LBRY protocol without involving any 3rd parties! Quite unique, and it actually has legit product in beta right now, you can access it as we speak, you just need at least one LBC and you are in the platform. It is basically a platform for sharing videos, photos, books and you set the price for the download. The price will also probably rise after the release is not beta anymore and it goes public. :)

They've pretty much made it clear that their goal is to create the app and let that be the advertisement. They do not want to 'artificially' raise up the value of the coin. Atleast not that this stage when they are still creating the product.So i stepped up the game for them. The old thread is plain WITHOUT any useful info, except for some links - whose interest will that gain? LBRY has been there for awhile just sleeping. It actually has a product and vision is good. But as a closed beta user, i can say that majority of the things are already fixed and working so it could be either VERY soon, but they could as well rather add more features and functionalities to it before the release. As they say, "soon". :D :D :D But for serious, it's not known. I must say though, that pretty much everything seems to be working now, also all kind of files can now be hosted/sold on the platform. Probably just fixing the the bugs now, and once it's ready, it will probably be released. I think it's better that they make it work like it should before releasing. Anyways after the release i would say the price will jump up anyways... We will see. They are focusing on the development rather than advertisement, but i guess now that minimal viable product - beta will be available, they will either start marketing or they will let people spread the word.
