Title: Daemonfox Account Recovery
Post by: daemonfox2017 on June 04, 2017, 04:39:07 AM
Just posting this here as well but I have patience and faith Theymos and Cyrus will assist.

Lost access to the daemonfox account. Security log shows I changed the password on May 15th but I haven't been an active user in two years.

Last active post was April 4 2015 and yes my account is worth recovering, I have Hero Member status and would like to keep it that way.

PM sent with signed message for address 1DAemoNXFNQxeDQAeRdEg245WvYsCfdgE9 that I used in post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=359608.msg6273035#msg6273035 so this should be an easy one. Thank vanitygen for a killer address right?

Now... I am ASSUMING foul play here as the reset requests are NOT coming to my email, SPAM folders or any other. IF by chance the email is the same as I requested in my PM signed message, then please reach out to me and I will gladly get whatever else is needed so the password can be reset.

Thanks so much for your time... I know this stuff is tedious but I appreciate your efforts!

Daemonfox

Are you willing to post a signed message on this thread so that others can be made aware the account is hacked?

Message verified, thank you. Assuming you sent the appropriate signed and dated message (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0) to either theymos or Cyrus, you should hopefully be on your way to recovering the account.

I have done exactly that, right before making this post. Awaiting assistance patiently.

It's not every day your hacked account gets returned. PM'd both of you right now, maybe today is the day a hacker actually returns an account untouched.

Sorry again....

Edit: P.S. don't be so dumb, I could have seen this thread and deleted your post with the address in it  :-X

Edit 2 By the real Daemonfox - Thanks for returning it.

Someone actually quoted OP's post so you could try to delete the post but it would not make too much difference.

Maybe if you own this account aswell.  ;)

LOL exactly, and I do not believe that is the only post I put addresses in, and I own all my privkeys so not like I couldn't sign a dozen different messages.

But at least all is back to normal.

EDIT: Also lbminer please, I thank you for your help and flagging my account... please fix the trust haha?!?

Just to confirm, can you sign a new message from the same address under this account?  :)

Looks good to me. I'm a little surprised.... I guess the price of BTC has everyone in a good mood these days. :)
