Title: gigabyte auros rx 570
Post by: K3nNyKee on June 04, 2017, 12:45:23 PM
Hi.

I`d bought a few gigabyte auros rx 570 4gb gpus.
I flashed the bios as it needs to be flashed (just like with my previous 14 card is working very well) copied 1500-2000 timing, didn`t set the clocks in bios, i don`t prefer this way of overclock.
installed the mixed driver, and if i would like to overclock the gpu the rig freezes above 1859 mem clock.
I set undervolt to 880mV, gpu clock at 1050, the rest is default.
Current stats:
eth+pasc: 26,6+265, but this is the max what i could get with it.
asic quality 81,6%
Any ideas why does it freeze above 1859 mem clock?
Thanks

What memory? Elpida?

Its likely Elpida, you need to understand that newer rx 570 or rx 580 always come with terrible unbinned memory chips, so that is it, yes if you want tight timings with 2000 mhz, forget elpida, only hynix or samsung can do it stable, elpida, just few and that is hard to find, two of my friends bought for gaming 2 rx 570 same product same model, I tried to custom mod them, the first went as high as 2090mhz and no issues, the other could not pass 1850mhz. Usually Hynix and samsung are better memory modules and have no problems. For gaming, fps in few games vary a lot too, anyway, both of my friends are happy with their purchases.

I have the Gigabyte Aorus RX 570 and mine has Hynix memory. Using 1750 straps I'm getting 27.2MH/s with ZERO memory errors at 2000MHz. Errors start to pop up at 2025MHz. I used 1500 straps but couldn't tell a difference, so I stick with 1750 straps. No telling what custom timings could do.
