Title: 3 years ago I wrote this bitcoin sci-fi short story! Today it is all spoiled!
Post by: cuddaloreappu on June 04, 2017, 03:39:53 PM
3 years ago I was trying to write the sci fi short story called MARS MINER about things happening in the bitcoin mining facility in MARS.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=668028.msg7574713#msg7574713

But the whole blocksize debate has spoiled everything. Clock is ticking for what they called flippening where some altcoin will overtake bitcoin.

we are not going to mars, we are going to fall into sea to the bottom.

It will never happen , bitcoin price very difficult to crash 100 $ and replaced with altcoin, but I'm sure there must be altcoin which has price = <1 bitcoin for now.

After trying to get a glimpse of the story written there, I am more convinced that you wrote it because you believed in it and even at a time when anyone could have bolted out of the space considering the amount of challenger that would have surfaced you held still which is something that would have been rare at the time. Aside that, the vision you envisaged right there didn't actually take into consideration the several challenges that would come its way that might even shake the for being fabrics of bitcoin like the one we are having and when that happens, people improvise not to kill, but to make things better.

Every good story needs an antagonist but it should never be the author.

This jus shows that there is nothing that could be exactly predicted, especialy when cryptocurrencies are involved. You have written the situation how you saw it at that time and how the things looked to you.
But no matter all this issues Bitcoin is facing these days I don't think the situation is that bad and could be improved.

we really have to start asking questions such as is the situation really bad

just some time ago we were happy the gaming platform allowed bitcoin and i gifted my cousin games with it..

Today it takes 1 day to confirm and the gift arrives late, the fees are more than the actual game I bought my cousin

The future does not look good for bitcoin and the alternatives are gaining strength day by day.

Hope things go well for bitcoin

It is a sci-fi story right? So it should not be affected by the happenings in the real world. Only you are affected, not the story. Or if you cared about the reality so much, then add some of the current dispute in the real world to your story. You might want to add some twists right? Oh yeah, if ever bitcoin will be overtaken by an altcoin, then that will justify that your story is a total sci-fi ;D

Did you sell all your coins OP? I've heard that tone before in posts by some sore losers in speculation.
You want Bitcoin to crash, but it's not, so it's time to spread some grim predictions, am I right?
Bitcoin is still strong, no worries.

Hmm... nice story first, I am kinda new to all this so prob thats why I haven't see it before. But it is an interesting one! No matter if it will not happen but hey it is si-fi :D

But I don't think that we will fall. The worst case scenario would be that we split the chain - can look at this something what ETH and ETC done in the past. SO it will leave us with 2 coins at end. Just sit and enjoy the show or transfer your money to other crypto currency if you don't want to get out of the crypto. Bitcoin will sustain and stabilize as it always do, it is the most well known crypto and the one that you can acctually buy many things with.

Lets see what will there be after USAF (I am not backing it nor do I support BU)

I agree that OP have sold all his coin on this downfall and now when the price moved up and feeling sorry that is why now creating a false story about bitcoin going down so that other traders also sell the coin and bring the market down. This is very old trick which wont work now as bitcoin users are now very wise and they itself will buy back when ever their is down side in bitcoin.

May i know what makes you think that we are going to fall into sea to the bottom?
Bitcoin is still strong, and the value is increasing day by day.
Even since quite long time ago, people keep saying that altcoin is gonna replace bitcoin but till now it still doesn't happen.
It's quite hard for altcoin to replace bitcoin although maybe someday it could.
And hey, your story is just a story. Bitcoin is still fine now and i'm pretty sure until the future.
