Title: Petition to get Amazon to accept bitcoin as payment method (sign and share)
Post by: pooya87 on June 04, 2017, 03:55:02 PM
for years people said we want places like Amazon to start accepting bitcoin as a payment.
and today i finally saw someone doing something about it (maybe there were others but i am not aware of any).

so if you want it go here and sign and share this where you can, it is a petition to get Amazon to add bitcoin and litecoin:

The good thing is that you can still use BTC through other means to buy on Amazon or other places. Loading a visa card with BTC works and you can spend it places.

The next step obviously is to get Amazon and others to use BTC directly though. At the moment not many places use it directly, they use stuff like Bitpay. Bitpay manages it for them and they mostly don't really hold the BTC for long or almost at all.

Buying a prepaid visa bought with Bitcoin just to buy something from Amazon is a good workaround, but bad for adoption. It would be in everyone's favour to make the process simpler by accepting Bitcoin directly but i don't think that will happen anytime soon simply because of volatility. Most smaller companies are ok with accepting it because it is essentially an investment they're receiving and the amount of people ordering with bitcoin is small so its a relatively small risk.
