Title: Have I lost my Bitcoins for good? Post by: Vimcoin on June 04, 2017, 06:29:45 PM Hello everyone, thanks for your time. Question as per title; I will post the sequence of events below to make it clear what has happened:
- approx 3 years ago: bought 1.5 bitcoins, located in 'Multibit' wallet. - 3 days ago: attempted to send roughly 1.49BTC to a 'coinbase' wallet. - Transaction was unconfirmed seen by 1 peer for several hours, sought googles help and ended up resetting blockchain and transactions to 2 days prior of current failing transaction. - Once this completed, I had 0BTC in my Multibit wallet (there was something like 0.00X left after I sent the 1.49) - I tried resetting again, but this time right up to the present time. This time 1BTC flat returned to my wallet, but 0.5 remained unaccounted for. - I tried sending 0.9BTC to my coinbase wallet, thinking that perhaps my fee wasn't high enough, but the same thing happened. This time I reset again to the present time but now I'm back at 0BTC. I wonder if using an outdated Multibit client is the cause of this now. Have I lost my BTC? What is the best course of action now? Leave it a few days? Export my wallet to a new Multibit client? Any help or advice appreciated, thanks. Title: Re: Have I lost my Bitcoins for good? I lost the first one, but Multibit keeps a log of events and I trawled through it after the first mishap and believe I found the hash. When I ran it through one of those websites (forgive me I forgot the name of it), it said the transaction didn't exist. I would imagine the same thing has happened to the 2nd one. I can trawl through the log again though and find them if need be. @HI-TEC99 Wasn't my thread mate but thanks very much. I had an inkling this was the problem but I was worried nevertheless. Should I keep the same client and wait, then update the programme I use, or get a new programme now and await for my BTC to return? Title: Re: Have I lost my Bitcoins for good? Post by: Vimcoin on June 04, 2017, 07:26:49 PM Blockchain.info has my balance at 1.5BTC, which is a relief. Guess I just have to play the waiting game?

Give us those address.. And if multibit created a logs export the first or last log so that we can know if what honestly the problem of you transaction . Title: Re: Have I lost my Bitcoins for good? My Multibit wallet: https://blockchain.info/address/1F7nGCkejR94bbrp1oo62sGWKxVB3w3uV6 I'm going to assume my coinbase wallet (with a balance of 0) has never seen any of the transactions I attempted because the Multibit client was too old with a preset fee which was too low. Now I just have to hope that they return to my Multibit wallet locally in due course. Title: Re: Have I lost my Bitcoins for good? I'd install electrum and import your multibit private keys into it as explained in the post I linked to. Your coins will probably show in electrum, and if they do you can send them immediately. Got my electrum wallet set up, imported the key and now I have 1.498BC unconfirmed, but the transaction has appeared on blockchain.info so I expect it'll turn up soon.
