Title: Will the ETH switch to POS happen this November 2017?
Post by: jmigdlc99 on June 05, 2017, 03:49:11 AM
As a miner, the shift of ETH to POS directly affects the profitability of mining.

According to online research, ETH POS was already scheduled to happen by May, but then moved to November.

Ethereum to switch to Proof-of-Stake before May 1, 2017:

Ethereum to switch to Proof-of-Stake before November 1, 2017:

So, what is your opinion on this change to Proof-of-Stake, and do you think it will be made soon?

POS won't happen in Nov 2017.

But what will happen by then is  difficulty being doubled/tripled from todays rate and price correcting and crashing back down to the $50-$100 ETH/USD

That is more worrying than POS.

I saw the hash rate increased over 300% in the last 3 months. So if it keeps on rising, then it might not be so profitable.
