Title: for GTX 1060 owners
Post by: s4v4g3 on June 05, 2017, 11:52:30 PM
i'm going to build a new Nvidia 6 cards rig with x6 GTX 1060s
i'm wondering what's the hashrate on Ethereum for the single 1060.. i searched online but hashrates are so different
does the 1060 has problems with windows which make it runs at 2.5 MH/s on ETH mining?
are there any disadvantage for using nvidia cards for mining? (because all of the AMD cards are out of stock)

i need someone who tried to mine ETH on Windows using gtx 1060 so let me know what is your hashrate also if there's any problems with this card for mining

The $190 PNY GeForce GTX 1060 3GB Graphics Cards can do 23.5mh ETH and 268 SOL/s ZEC each @ ~60W per card.

Hard to beat if you can get it for less than $200. The only disadvantage is with 3GB VRAM, you're not going to be able to dual mine.

that looks great, my rx 480 8gb (samsung memory) performance is 22~24.5 MH/S at stock settings.
but why do people go with the AMD RX series and it have more popularity than nvidia, there must be a reason for this i guess..

Most miners go with AMD because it's been around longer for mining. Until more recently Nvidia support for mining was not very good. The cost per hash is generally better with AMD cards. With the latest 10 series GPU's, that is not as much the case any more and Nvidia is most certainly in the game.

The other reason miners like AMD cards is they are more hackable. To get the most out of the RX cards for ETH you have to adjust the memory timings in the Bios. You should easily be able to ~29 MH/s with just a memory timing mod.

I agree with the comments above, plus the RX 470 used to be had for around $175.  They were a real bargain that produced good hash rates.
