Title: this 'crash': extremely shady/genius moves by TradeHill?
Post by: paulie_w on June 19, 2011, 06:19:56 PM
could be a nice way to take the complete market from a competitor: sick the hackers on them, give them constant hell.

all this seemed to start happening after they launched. and remember the problems with mtgox the DAY they launched?

hmmmm... :-)

It doesn't matter who is attacking, the fact of the matter is, mtgox is a one man hobby operation, that isn't designed to handle to security/volume demand of the current btc market.  Tradehill is far better than mtgox.

MtGox has more than one employee, it's not just a one-man operation.

Mt Gox is working with the Feds. DO NOT TRUST THEM

MtGox is incompetent enough on their own.  They don't need Tradhill's help to fail.

Yeah, easy here. "Competitor" != "psychotic evil bastard".

I do hope TradeHill has been spending their money on the very best security they can afford. A bitcoin exchange seems like the most obvious target imaginable (soft outer shell with delicious gooey center of irreversible transactions).

For the record TradeHill has absolutely nothing to do with the activity on Gox.

Honestly how can anyone expect hackers to attack Gox and not TradeHill if that is indeed what happened.

Also when it comes to the Fed they're going to have to pry the data out of our hands, there is no way we will just hand it over.

Why would trade hill crash the market and make itself lose money? lol

come on jered, of course you couldn't say otherwise. if you did what i'm suggesting here, i actually respect you for it. it's nasty and brutal, but so is the game. mad props, really.

also i appreciate, but kind of chuckle at grandstanding at us power. there's a nice history of that on the continent already (mostly failed), but these are different times.

anyway, i really DO wish you the best of luck / hope you guys succeed.

since it bounced back, they would have made crazy money on the transaction, wouldn't they?
