Title: Has Cex.io exchange started scamming people?
Post by: AmarO on June 06, 2017, 07:00:43 AM
My friend has told me they're holding his fiat withdraw to CryptoCapital and have shutdown their live customer support. Anyone know what is going on with this exchange?

I have account there but i never used it, this is not an new exchange, he must be persistent in tries to contacts support..
If he is insecure then better to buys back BTC and leave that place. This is why we need decentralised exchanges, perfect example.

Can you try to post your cases on the scam accusations section. I think if that will worth for you rather make a complain in here. Cex.io is working for smoothly to me. I didn't get any problem with the service.

It used to operate into a mining site before they turn to exchange, always gets may payout then and they are one of the early mining site,if they disable their support system this is an early warning sign that they could go down anytime, better open a scam accusations to warn others.

Why this must be early sign, they can stop all operations anytime without any warning, i presume they have some technical problems, try to find out more, before open scam accusation, this way you can create mess and confusion, which will has damage in reputation as result, be careful with some decisions.

Found this on their Twitter page:  "We are experiencing maintenance due to technical update. We are sorry for inconveniences, we will get back online ASAP"

I guess you should go over to their Twitter page with your questions & inquiries now they're still active.

I think you should not trust what your friend says, before you prove it yourself, if you have not seen it yourself, do not say anything about it, because I know Cex.io is a good and old exchange. In Crypto Exchange.

I was actually surprised to see something like this because when it comes to exchange sites that have stand the test of time over the years cex.io is one of them so for them to have this issue could mean a lot. Exploiting all avenues to get the attention of support is necessary before creating a thread for that purpose which might cause unnecessary panic for users but I am now at rest because they have already announced of the technical issues they are currently witnessing.

Show some proofs before you can accuse on cex.io, i have account there on the past which i didnt experience such troubles when it comes to deposits and withdrawals. As other people said here they do have good reputation and if they are experiencing problems then there would be many complaints on their thread.Try to check it out if you can see what i mean.

Why would that be? This is a legally registered business, they have long been on the market. Why would they put their reputation at risk? It's a clear thing that at peak times of user activity there may be some technical issues due to the overload. It's nothing to panic about.

On behalf of CEX.IO, we are terribly sorry for any delays with ticket processing. It was caused purely due to overload.
We are working hard to extend our Support & Compliance teams and get back to fast operation.

I'd ask why the Facebook page down and employees Twitter accounts deleted or not used. The company customer support is useless and appears to be bots. I'm locked out of my account because my phone number has changed and haven't received any support other than a repeated bot reply email. Others have been trying for months with similar issues.

This issue has been resolved in the main CEX.IO thread. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=318010.msg20982466#msg20982466)
