Post by: harveydent on June 06, 2017, 09:07:50 PM
i'm looking on block chain and from what i can see the last block mined was at 20:31:59 - its now 22:05:50 - is this normal? i thought i was meant to be around 6 an hour?!

The average block time is 10 minutes (actually a little lower in times of rising global hashrates), due to variance, the time between two blocks can be higher or lower.
So yes, having a longer time between two blocks every now and then is perfectly normal.
That being said, there's been 3 blocks in the last hour, 6 in the last two.

thanks for confirming, i take it the accelerator takes even longer to find blocks?

just curious as it said my transaction was successful but that was 4 hours ago..

i used Electrum and set my preference to Dynamic fees so i have no idea why the miners fee is so low, i'll just do it myself manually next time.

If you're talking about the via "accelerator", you will have to wait for a block beign found by their mining pool, as they only include your transaction in their blocks, not more.
Their last block was ~4 hours ago (https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/pool/viabtc).
