Title: bitcoin or altcoin transfer delay?
Post by: flowassurance on June 07, 2017, 12:18:21 PM
Hello. guys

I am seeking to invest ICO for the first time.
Generally, people transferred their bitcoin or ethereum to participate in crowdfunding.
However, there are delay in transferring bitcoin(over 10 minutes).
so, if --->

ICO start(July,1, AM 12:00) ~ (target $1M) , but it was very popular and end in 10 minutes.
AM 12:10 (close)

I transfer my bitcoin at AM12:05 and delay over 10 minutes. In this case, what happened??? my investment was failed???

could you tell me how to transfer it quickly??

Actually it is faster I have transactions that took from 12 hours to 3 days to confirm but if you really want to confirm it fast you can increase the transaction fee that way you will not be late in the ico

Whats your concern do you want to convert bitcoin to ether and participate in ICO because its having better transaction speed. Or you want use bitcopin as payment for ico . If you really want give bitcoin as payment mode then you have to pay high transaction fee there is no other way

if you want to make your transaction confirmed fast you need to put high fees like 500k sat or even more if you dont want to miss out the ico there was even a guy who put 2000$ ether transaction fee to buy (BAT) basic attention token , the ico only lasted for 30 seconds

I agree, mine took almost 3 hours to confirm and I even increased the transaction fee because I've read you will receive them much faster than those of the lowest fee, but still took sometime for me to transfer the amount.

Check out this website. It has the confirm times of different coins. For bitcoin we know that most places want 3 confirmations so that should be 30 minutes om average. Other coins are faster block times and require less confirmations.

https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/litecoin-confirmationtime.html

I believe dogecoin is one of the fastest, litecoin may be faster than btc though you need to look at how many confirms are needed

I think OP question has not been answered adequately... of course with  ethereum you will have no problem making your investment as its quite fast but as for investing with bitcoin in the last minutes of ICO could mean a missed opportunity as it might take longer to get our transaction confirmed but am sure devs might be reluctant to this kind of situation and should sell you some tokens

If the crowdfunding is over and you still have a pending transaction, there are 2 ways : either you will be refunded by the developers, or it will be accepted.
You could send a transaction with a higher fee, somebody spent $6000 on fees during the one recent ico in order to 100% make it in time.

but i think payement fees is not optional , for exemple when you use coinbase you pay 100k fee hardly , you couldn't change the fees
