Is there a way out to deal with this old bitcoin transaction, to wait for 1 confirmation can sometimes wait for hours, sometimes even all day

Increase your fees for the time being. If you are coming off of an exchange, the fees are usually dynamic and you should be fine. But if you are coming out of a client wallet, set the fee setting up to max, especially if you use the network at a peak time (the middle of the day). If you want to send something cheap, send it in the middle of the night, less congestion means more chances to get included in a block faster. This is how everyone can help the congestion issue; it wouldn't be such a deal if the transactions didn't congregate.

The simplest of solutions would be to given higher transaction fees if you are not patient enough to wait for a longer time and even at this juncture 319 satoshi per Byte is more than enough to get a confirmation within a hour and i did some transactions today with that level of fees and i got faster confirmation ,so it is best for you to try that out if you are having any urgency .

Pay a higher fee is basically the go-to if you really want to avoid waiting for long confirmation times. If you don't want to do that, then campaign for larger block sizes and in the event we get a fork, fees should go down as transactions are confirmed faster and there should be more open space in the blocks, or at the very least lower fees across the board. Then people have to start caring about spam attacks again, but I would worry less about that since they would need double the volume of their previous attempts.
