if i understand it, it´s like amazon security program, that they save the money until the item is delivered.
i´m ok at this point.

Escrow is an entity that will hold the coins until the deal is finished.

You agree with the buyer about value and terms, the buyer sends coins to escrow (John is very well trusted, as is Graet, my two go-to people for these deals).
You deliver the goods, the buyer tells the escrow it is ok to release the funds, you receive you coins.

This way if any of the parties tries to pull some trick the entity serving as escrow has the opportunity to verify which of the sides is not behaving, and send the coins to the other party.

Where in Spain are you located? I would very much like to see the car in person, and would likely be interested in buying it myself.

Sorry guys but I really doubt you can donate a car so easily in Spain. Just googling for a while it seems that you have to pay taxes anyway.

Selling the car for a lower quantity in fiat and paying the rest in BTC is illegal in Spain like in all European countries.

Still, I think this is an interesting topic:  how to buy things 'legally' in Europe with bitcoins? Anybody can help me?

I'm actually looking into this.... but to make things simple, best to stick with fiat (as in currency, not the car maker... :p).

ok, im talking with a friend about this and is not necesary to make a transfer. i only must go to trafico office
and give the license plates with the documents of car, and pay 8 euros

then i can get a temporal license plates to drive the car to the shipping company

Good luck on selling your car, however, I'm pretty sure this doesn't belong in the newbies section and instead belongs in the marketplace section  ;) If I was interested in a car I would consider it but I'm in the US so shipping wouldn't be cheap. O'well, best of luck selling your car!

Hm, I got an offer for a spanish car a while ago, was a scam.
I don't want to say moketillos offer could be illegit, but nobody with his head in the right place should buy anything for close to 10000 bucks if he can't be sure to get it, especially if he uses a irreversible transaction like BTC.
And a car? How do you know it's in good shape (technically speaking) without looking at it?

But, well, if you wanted to take holidays in Spain anyway, than why not?
Just make sure to include the Bitcoin payment (including a fresh target address) in the contract.
That way, neither the buyer nor the seller can argue there was no transaction.

The shipping bill confirmation would be too easy to fake. You would have to wait for the car to be delivered and inspected.

Yes it can. You could also be sending something that isn't the car. Also I'm assuming the buyer will want to test the car before buying to make sure it works. No dealer sells a car without letting the buyer test it.

i cant wait to the car be delivered and you test it to get the money.
first because in 2-3 weeks that can take the delivery proces, the bitcoin price can change a lot,
and second because im putting the shipping cost, then you can decida that don´t want the car and i lose money.
i can send you a video with the car driving it  and you can see that it works, and pay me when the car is on track.

I know this is a Bitcoin forum but why not use ask John or Nanotube (he handled a 10000 BTC bet in the past) to escrow the transaction but ask them to exchange the BTC to USD or EUR which are much less volatile. Once Goat confirms he received the car and it's working fine, the Escrow will release either convert the funds back to BTC and send it to Moketillos or wire the USD, EUR or whatever currency directly.

Because it will be more of a hassle for the Escrow tip the person who does it at least 2% (or maybe 3% if the money is to be converted again, to BTC).

Just a suggestion, I just want more people to see Bitcoin used for bigger non-speculative transaction  ;)

obviusly is better to me to do this with escrow, but if you want to test the car to pay me, then come here and test it here, i will not pay 2000euros to ship the car and then you take it to have a funny time  and then say that you dont want it,
in this case i lose time and a lot of money with shipping.
i can send you a video testing it, but if you want to test it personally then come here.

Moketillos, creo que lo ideal sería pasar una revisión completa en la BMW ya que ese dato es verificable en cualquier BMW de cualquier parte del mundo

en esta web https://www.juntadeandalucia.es/economiayhacienda/apl/surweb/modelos/modelo621/621.jsp puede verificar el comprador introduciendo tus datos DNI y Matrícula (no hace falta más) que el vehículo está a tu nombre y que tiene las características que tu indicas (fecha de 1ª matriculación, motor, potencia fiscal...) y con un seguro de la compañía que se haga cargo del envío a nombre del comprador (por si le pasa algo al coche en el trayecto y tener segura su inversión) que sea verificable por el comprador.

Además de todo esto necesitas una gestoría que trabaje o tenga contacto con el país del comprador porque el comprador debe firmar la compra ya que si no el coche seguiría siendo de tu posesión lo que puede resultar un problema.

P.D. Jhon K como escrow te asegurará tus bitcoins ya que lo lleva haciendo mucho tiempo y es la persona de más confianza, supongo que no habrá problema si el artículo es revisado en BMW y asegurado por 8000$ en pagar con la verificación del envío.

You understand how escrow works? It is to protect BOTH the buyer AND the seller.
You would only ship it if the Escrow (let's say John, who is trusted and escrow thousands of BTC transactions) confirmed that he received the funds from Goat.
If Goat wanted to break the car he could do it but he wouldn't get the BTC back. John would release it to you.

To be 99.999% safe I would post here a picture just hours before shipping the car with the date and some random text posted by someone other than you (also hours before shipping) handwritten on a piece of paper in front of the car so in case Goat happened to crash into a herd of goats totaling the car.


This is also an interesting solution. Coins to the value of a plane ticket to Spain in escrow will not be as huge an amount as the car and you would only lose them if you wanted to scam Goat.

Goat, if he still insist on receiving the funds without you being able to test the car despite providing 2 safe options for him I'd give up on 'negotiating' with Moketillos.

Worst language to manipulate and misconstrue, especially over the internet, and makes doing a deal ten time's harder for both sides.  ::)
