OK, what's the story with this TOP SECRET summer project?

Early this year, we had a stroke of genius (or madness, it's difficult to tell sometimes) regarding a possible summer project which we believed was both WONDERFULLY AWESOME and RIDICULOUSLY IMPRACTICAL (a special combination that we've always admired in our favorite products), so we immediately classified it as TOP SECRET!

Next, we quietly market-tested this TOP SECRET idea to three crypto-enthusiasts, and each of those three people was absolutely thrilled with the concept. (DISCLOSURE: At the time, I playfully suggested that the idea might be "total bat-shit crazy." They all agreed that it was DEFINITELY crazy, but they loved the idea anyway!)

Now we are in the final stages and ready to start production. To fund production, we are offering to pre-sell four (4) of these ten (10) LIMITED EDITION art pieces at a flat price of 1 BTC each. (This pre-sale includes FREE SHIPPING in the USA.) The remaining six (6) art pieces will be auctioned at a minimum opening bid of 1 BTC when they are completed in mid-August.

Once again, we will pre-sell four (4) of these LIMITED EDITION art pieces ONLY. (First come, first served.) Once we reach the four (4) pre-sale limit, no more art pieces will be pre-sold.

Welp ive had a look at the plans and got to agree with everyone else, wasnt expecting that.  BitcoinPenny making an epic bitcoin piece.  Nothing short of crazy and amazing at the same time.  Considering picking up the last pre order.  8)

It is a beautiful piece indeed, when I first saw it, I have to say I wasn't sure if he would go through with it, as it was kinda out there, but knowing the bitcoin penny co, it just had to happen :)

Wish I could get it myself, although it really does belong in a  man cave type environment or maybe not :) depends on your point of view.

I was happy to have been privileged to be one of the first to see this project in its infancy, and wish all the best to this project and sales, as I think it definitely has legs :)

Actually, we are hoping to release a mini version too (with higher supply, maybe 50-100 max), but that will be a little while longer. We have to finish the full size project first. ;)

Oh sweet.  I was thinking a mini version would be nice as well.  A lot easier to showcase in my house  ;D

I dunno what it is, but I think a 1/20th scale version at 1/20th of the price would be really cool considering how excited everyone that preordered/knows what the plans are

Please make the mini version out of .999 polished copper (or .999 silver :o) so I can wear it on my neck! Looking forward to the unveiling of the project :D.

Unfortunately, that's not how it works with this particular project. We inquired about an optional smaller version during our initial talks, and the manufacturer explained that the total cost (for the same quantity) would be the same, no matter the size. Unlike the standard collectible coin, the majority of the production cost with this particular project is in the design and mold process, not in the total spot metal price. Making and selling 50-100 pieces of a smaller version would certainly distribute the production costs across more inventory and significantly lower the end price, but that is due to the quantity being made and sold, not the size of the product.
