Why do people invest into dogecoin? I have been asked that question many time, I believe that it is worth a thread. Let's get right into it right now.

First, it is ranked in the top 15 cryptocurrency. Secondly, it is so cheap that if it has a slight growth, you will make A LOT. Basically, right now it is not even worth $0.01. The potential in this coin is so huge.

Dogecoin has various use, but I wont list it.

This is my reasoning behind it anyway.

What are the uses of Doge? I don't think many people know what they are... and it can't both be top 15 marketcap and also be tiny with huge potential... it's one or the other. With that being said, people invest in Doge because they like to invest in memes. As far as memecoins go, Dogecoin is a Bluechip.. the gold standard. And there's nothing wrong with that justification for investment.

I am also one of those who ask why people invest in doge.

I don't think it's in the top '15' anymore. It's ranked as 19, according to coinmarketcap.com.

Other than being a way to escape Bitcoin high fees and delays, I don't think it has any other usages.

I am pretty sure that the reason why people invest in Dogecoin is because they want to get in on the hype and since there is a bunch of Doge available on exchanges they feel that they would make a bunch of money with all the coins that they have. Dogecoin is pretty tough to pump so I wouldn’t want to invest in it unless I had to send money to someone who has a Dogecoin wallet within few days ahead.

My question would be why it's not even worth $0.01 in the first place…

My primary reason for buying Dogecoin was to have this available as aa currency for tipping on social networks, or personal interactions, etc. Secondary reasons were a good brand name, fast transactios (at least compared with BTC), accessible price that allowed purchase of 1.2M shares and belief that Dogecoin is likely to appreciate in value in the future.

There are a lot of adopters and use it for transactions due to its stability, it has sentimental value, and now we are in a bubble so everything is going up

I just invest into DOGE for short term because of it's low price; for long term I think others coin should be better

For me doge is a coin that has good potential in the future, although today many people who buy doge only limited to transaction because it has cheapest transaction value and fast process when compared with other coins. But it seems doge Also has good potential As an investment.

because this coin started as a joke, then people liked the joke and stuck around and saw it can be mined and the reward was good. then the community grew and it started attracting a lot of attention and fun memes so more people came.

also it is fast and easy to use and super cheap (fees are 1 Doge!).
there aren't much to it that this, and the huge supply of multi billion is a big downside!

you won't list it because there aren't really that much. there are a couple of merchants who were Doge Meme Fans who added doge and a couple of game selling websites which did that but most of them went out of business because of lack of interest.

beside that, the best thing that many people is invest into doge is they can use it for playing gambling, they only need to send dogecoin into their account and its no need to wait too long, the amount can arrive with fast. the other reason is i think dogecoin is for fun thing so they can save it into their wallet for long term investment.

Personally, because of long term investment. And it's cheap.

I'm a very sentimental guy so I keep DOGE. Beside this we helped a few people to achieve their dreams and I like to tip not to gamble.

Why Do People Invest in Dogecoins?
-Popularity, Yes.
-Can be used in various gambling sites, yes.
-Affordable, biggest yes.

I think Doge is a good investment because of Gambling. It made this coin really popular.

Because those are considered doge as a good alternatives rather than litecoin. I mean those are not invested on doge but just try bought it to avoid the scaling fees of bitcoin. With the dead team and it can't be considered as a good place to invest our money.

Doge community is and was always a place where you can meet nice people. Aside of trying to make some more BTC on the altcoin market, Doge is perfect for sending tips or simply gifting friends and strangers alike. All the tips and gifts have a positive effect not only on the person you send them to, but it is some kind of marketing for cryptocurrencies. Because people who are new to the whole topic will see this as something very positive. Who dosen't like to be gifted, right? So, in the end you support all your assets by investing in an affordable coin and sharing it.

I am not so sure why people are pumping really old coins nowadays since there is no real demand for them. I think those people that are pumping the old coins have a little bit too much Bitcoin in their Bitcoin exchange account is just spending it to increase the possibility of newbs trying to buy their coins at a high price.

Because they can't lose hope that dogecoin were become one of the famous coins in crytocurrencies world or they assume that in the future, value of dogecoin were increased that's why a lot of people choose to invest in dogecoin.

I also asked that question myself on why people invest dogecoin. And have come to a conclusion that the reason maybe some people do invest in them it is because its value is still cheap compared to those other coins, especially when newbies see the price at some trading site. Of course they would think they would profit from it because it's still cheap without checking it's purpose.

People usually invest just to cheapen transactions or just to gamble, after all doge coin can be gambled in many gambling sites and is a lot faster to transfer compared to bitcoin. I personally buy doge to make transactions cheap just to get my btc out of an exchange with high fee which is livecoin for example then send all the doge I bought to another exchange that got low transaction fee in terms of btc.

It seem like a joke to me in comparison with other coins, which have at least some perspective and plan. But as always every product has its customer.
When someone says it has big community maybe more appropriate terminology is - it has large number of bagholders who are waiting for better times.

I invested in it sometime ago, hoping that maybe the price might rise and maybe I might get more than what I invested in. But it's been long now and I am not seeing any changes. And I won't sell it now since I will be in a way loosing. So what I am doing now is holding on to it and keep on hoping that one day things might change. Maybe one day it might be ranked #2 on coinmarketcap.

Maybe and maybe not, main problem with DOGE is there is to many of them, and from what I have hard the DEV team has shrunk. Not sure other then the cute dog what it has that 100% unique. That being said it does have a bit following so that is why I invested some coin but I'm not holding my breath on this one.

Doge is on the uptrend, so surely it profits big on the investment made on it. Even in this weeks top altcoins for the trading requirement doge too was found. This makes it more accurate and allow people to invest more into doge than the past.

Doge is good if you like to gamble as they transaction fee is pretty cheap compared to bitcoin, the transaction speed is faster than bitcoin and a lot of gambling site accept doge. But i don't know the reason if people invest in doge for long term.

Perhaps the reason they invested Dogecoin in the long term is dogecoin is an old coin that still survive to this day and able to crawl up.

the speed and less expensive features of doge might be the reason why there are more people who still buying and investing with this coin its been almost a year now when i first bought and trade doge inside yobit i don't even think that it will rise like this if i only hold everything and not using it to gamble maybe i earned a lot, but in long term this coin will bring fortune like btc.

Dogecoin is around for a long time and it is a fun coin where you can use it to tip other and the transactions fees and transaction speed are really good and we have some sites that accepts dogecoin,recently we saw some movement in the coin,either way it is a choice whether you would like to use doge or others coins in the market.

It's a good coin and frankly I'd rather own it than bitcoin right now (even though I don't own any currently).  Low fees, quick confirmation times--what's not to love about it?  I'd use it as money over btc any day of the week.   As an investment,  not so much.  It's stable relative to btc, but that's another attribute in its favor.

Price has nothing to do with it. It's all about market cap. If DOGE had the potential to reach ETH's current market cap (EXTREMELY unlikely) you would make an 80x gain by buying into it right now. Don't count on that though lol (even if it did manage to reach that market cap in the future, ETH would outpace it by a large amount, making ETH the much smarter investment regardless).

DOGE is popular because it was a silly altcoin based on a meme that came out in the altcoin dark ages (there were a TON of "shitcoins" that offered basically no improvement to BTC or LTC). A lot of people bought it for fun, and it actually skyrocketed making a lot of people a lot of money. Most people back then thought they missed the BTC boat and would never have a chance to be rich like those who bought into BTC early. It gave everyone hope in the altcoin community again and is still popular because of it.

Does that mean it's still a smart investment? IMO, no. There are plenty of other projects with brighter futures and possibilities for more profit. I still think it deserves it's place on the top 100 chart due to its past though. :)

Sure, right now it just happens to be insane growth but it could easily crash.  Low fees and quick confirmations are two good arguments IMO.  It's kind of hard to deny, given how much it costs me to send bitcoin and sometimes I have to wait days for a confirmation.

Agreed. Doge usually operates in cycles. Usually there is half a year to one year in between pumps where the price slowly drops off, everyone says that dogecoin is dying and is nothing but a memecoin etc. and the community seems dead.

Then at the end of that cycle, another pump comes and everything semes lively again. This is the stage we are in right now.

Dogecoin is actually quite useful for microtransactions, and it's a fun coin to play around with because you seem rich holding all that doge instead of hoarding that fraction of a btc lol.

Reason I like doge today is: price is high enough, an alternative to reducing high transaction fee like on bitcoin as it happens at the moment. Doge is my alternative choice in transacting into fiat after litecoin.

I do not see any reason that make me invest into Dogecoin, we witness the age of the ICO, many projects have already made huge profits for their investors, and some have the same potential, so why to let them all and invest in Dogecoin.

The coin was launched in 2013-2014 and dev left the project in 2015( if i am right).
Even after dev left the project dogecoin is still in market and the price was never changing mode
i buyed 1000 dogecoin but the price of coin never(lit bit) increased so left this coin .

Are you sure people invest into dodgecoin? because I was not believe that people choose to invest in dodgecoin instead of ethereum, litecoin or any other altcoins with high value in the market. But if you are sure then maybe some people expecting that price of dodge were raised up.

I remembered that in the starting of the doge coin , it get much popular for few months but after the long run it get down and down , and also its owner didn't worked much about this coin because this coin was like open source for the bitcoiners ( at that time not much numbers of coins were available like is today ) .
But recently the change of the owner of the doge coin made it famous , and people started to buy it and that results into increase in the demand and now people are thinking that possibility of increasing price is still more because in these days every 1 Satoshi coins getting increasing and even with the single  Satoshi increment we can double our money .
So people are trying to double Thier money in investment of doge coin , and also I think it will be better for us to invest in the dodge coin because the popularity of the digecoin and technology is also going increasing .so it is currently a better option to invest .

Dogecoin is really an old coin but the progress isnt tehe same as people I think invest there only to make money and I remember when the price was really cheap and when I see now the price is pretty good and pretty high compared to a year or more ago. Lol currently you don't call them investors as most of them simply trade with it. You may think what's the use of trading such a coin but the price normally fluctuates from 110 to 120. So you can basically buy 100k at 110 and when you will sell at 120 you can get 0.01 btc profit which is really easy and even a newbie can do this.

Dogecoin has a very low transaction fee (worth in fiat) and it is pretty fast like ethereum but not like bitcoin which is expensive.

Perhaps, they think that Dogecoin will be better in the future and Dogecoin will have a much greater price than now.
