Title: best hardware / OS to mine LTC?
Post by: opinologo on May 05, 2013, 02:23:40 PM
from https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Litecoin "GPUs are currently the dominant Litecoin mining technology."

Is that so?

what would be the best hardware software to start with?

Debian Squeeze + 7950/7970 has worked well for me

Most hashes per watt is the 7970 though the 7950 does well too.

If you can get 6950s used for good prices you can flash most of them to 6970s which also do well.

You can mix and match these in one rig as long as you have enough power for them.
