Title: Send all Coins, transaction is stuck, what to do?
Post by: Razluta on June 09, 2017, 07:26:57 PM
Hey Folks!

I just send all my coins (thinking my "auto fee" is turned on" ) and yeah.... now all my coins are stuck with the minimum fee of 0.0002 :D I know about the common ways to handle it like "child pays for parent" and doublespend. But i dont got any coins left, is there any way to get them back? are they lost forever?

What wallet software are you using? Please read https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1802212.0

You can try to double spend it with the higher fee (not all wallets have this and enable you to do this). Other than that you could try to enter your transaction ID here https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/ every hour. VIABTC is a pool that lets you push your transaction for free, once your transaction is accepted in their system they will try to mine your transaction and to include it into the next block that they mine.

and here is the paid version (by btc.com pool) : https://pushtx.btc.com/#/ they will also try to include your transaction as fast as possible but you will have to pay for the serviece here, thats the difference and you won't need to wait and try few times as it is the case with viabtc.

Firstly... No, they're not lost forever... if the transaction doesn't confirm, the network will eventually drop your transaction and the coins will effectively be "re-spendable" by your wallet (assuming your wallet isn't useless :P)

Second... There is a possibility you could do a "Replace-by-fee" transaction if your wallet supports it (as it uses the original inputs and just reduces the output amount to bump up the fee). Also, were you sending the coins to yourself? or someone else? There is still a possibility that you could do a "Child Pays For Parent" if you own one of the output addresses...

If "RBF" or "CPFP" is not an option, then the fallback is the ViaBTC TX Accelerator (https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/)... It is busy, and they only provide 100 slots per hour, so you need to submit right at the start of an hour. There are some other requirements (no dust outputs, no doublespend, no unconfirmed parents, minimum of 0.0001 BTC/kB fee)...

If you post your transaction ID here, we can also take a look and see if there is anything other than your fee that may stop it from getting confirmed.

Even if you do not double spend or anything like that, the TX will eventually go through.  It is not that it will not happen, it is just a matter of how quickly.  Check blockcypher for the TX and see there what state the TX is in. These days you should be careful in selecting the right fee as too low fee will just make it never confirm
