Title: Goodbye to Godaddy (New choice will be SONM)
Post by: USBitcoinServices.Com on June 10, 2017, 05:49:01 AM
Soon we will say goodbye to greedy companies like Godaddy and bluehost... Thanks to the SONM project, decentralized web hosting is possible now
on the blockchain, take a look at their SONM thread here:

How soon is soon? mmm no idea, it all depends on how many developers are working on the SONM project and how abundant their budget is, between other factors like how big the support they have from the crypto community and the non-crypto community which normally is smaller than the crypto,
but chances are the mainstream media reach them and spread the word and the support from their own community at slack.

I am looking forward to the web hosting on blockchain too. Godaddy has been boycotted by me long ago and it is rather hard to find good host with cheap pricing.

For me too, since many years ago, but once SONM starts offering the web hosting service I will switch to SONM, it will take some time who knows, 1 or 2 years, just guessing now.

SONM web hosting, what do you mean host on blockchain? It means the website can't be suspended by the hoster? That's amazing. It means there will be off time. Because blockchain network is 24 hours life. Alright waiting for the project and the products.

Sounds interesting I never drop a line on SONM,but if they have a good roadmap and they are competitive, why not but they will need a lo tof effort and time to beat these giant but with the help of crypto currency community they could definitely do that

Hosting on the blockchain? That sounds really great, but will it be cheaper than so many cheap options available? Like the namecheap hosting.
Won't it be quite costly especially with high needs of space and bandwidth?

It's sounds really awesome hosting based on blockchain my question how would be the subscription charge how it makes difference from godaddy and blue host by cheap rates

everybody here says how its great, but nobody explained to me how it would actually work. Can you imagine how large can some websites be?

Whether Sonm is good project or not, I like to support blockchain based projects. Sonm has great idea, but we should wait and watch how development process will go, however, I think these projects need long time to replace the traditional companies.

As we know Sonm offers universal supercomputer worldwide

Something like Golem, Iex.ec? If i am not mistaken

Lets say for web hosting on blockchain

Do people still be able to have their site on the www platform? i mean lets say we point our nameserver to Sonm, will our website accessible via web browser and shows on google?

Have not much knowledge on how web hosting work

I agree with you on some aspect of your opinion. I am a SONM supporter too and think SONM will have a bright future. However, we should keep an eye on the development of the SONM project. I hope the team will not make us disappoint.

When such big companies look into the blockchain technology, you see the biggest pump ever.

SONM have already collected over 10,000 ETH within 10 hours during their pre-sale and that is really good amount of money they can use to release atleast beta platform by end of their next ICO. SONM project looks promising, I couldn't invest in them during that pre-sale but will not miss their coming ICO.

if SONM can implement decentralized webhost on blockchain it will be great feature, i will like this one because we dont need to store our file in a centralized server and i think uptime server will always 99% as long as no fork in the blockchain

It will be on Etherum chain,SONM has much more to offer than only hosting, you can check his project by clicking signature By my opinion.tt is most innovative project now

well, but ETH blockchain is already 100GB, what will happen if you add many TB from hosting to it? or will it be stored somewhere else? Thats what i dont understand about this "website hosting on blockchain"

With the SONM project, everybody will be able to rent out their unused hard drive/storage space from their computers, there is where things get interesting, SONM project team are working to provide the algorithm that can handle that. So no matter how big each website is because the offer will be big enough to handle the web hosting request from the market and the prices will be way cheaper because it will be peer to pee

ok p2p, hosted on users drives and shared, i can understand this.
And what about bandwidth? won't it be loading too slow?

This might be interesting. I might start using it as well when they release it.

Perhaps it will show on brave the new internet browser/explorer that is native in cryptography if I am correct.
