Title: Need Marketing Suggestions for Our Course
Post by: charleshoskinson on May 05, 2013, 04:47:53 PM
The Bitcoin Education Project has released a free crowdsourced course in partnership with Udemy:

https://www.udemy.com/bitcoin-or-how-i-learned-to-stop-worrying-and-love-crypto/

We need some advice on where and how to market the course to hit our subscription goal of 10,000 by the end of the Summer and 100k by the end of 2013. We also need contributors to help us make more content in the following areas of bitcoin {Entrepreneurship, Social Innovation, History, Technology and Economics}. Any ideas?

This is just a raw idea, I'm not sure if it's feasible/allowed/etc.

If you course is free, you can try to spread the word about it among the students enrolled on relevant Coursera courses (or similar online educational platforms), e.g. in Economic/Technology category. They have discussion forums for each course. You need to enroll to a course to be able to access it or you can try to reach through teaching assistants (which I think is a proper way of doing it).

The Let's Talk Bitcoin show has more than 15,000 listeners and doubling every week.

Do an interview and talk about the program on the show.

Adam and I worked out a deal a few days ago. You might have noticed his website now links to our Udemy course. I'll try for an interview as soon as we have the project website up and running.

I'm also trying to build a relationship with TWIT.tv. Any other media suggestions? Bitcoin Mag is a no go, but perhaps ed and ethan or David Perry's show?
