So I'm a Bitfinex account holder, and I'm transferring in some USD to lend, but I want to join the community over at: https://community.bitfinex.com/, however, when I go to register, I get the following error: Invitation Code: Wrong Code

Where am I supposed to get this invitation code?

Anyways, fix the forum guys! I want to have a conversation with the people I'm lending my money too...

The same problem, have you managed to find the code?

You should have gotten it via mail when you signed up (created your account) on Bitfinex. It is different from your account password or anything else.

That is all i got after registration (on 17th July 2013)

I think they did this because of the last DDOS problem. At least they stopped telling "we can't acept new users due to DDOS". I am using binance and it has all features except USD trading. it never went out when bitfinex and hitbtc were down. Even the performance it terrific. check it out here

Apparently Bitfinex has closed down account creation for now, my referral code from https://www.bitfinex.com/representatives also changed to "[Disabled for new signups]" status which I haven't seen before.

This thread about "invitation codes" was about a customer forum in 2013, NOT about these new invitation codes.

I would recommend to focus on Christmas and enjoying time with loved ones, not on running around like maniacs trying to open accounts on already overloaded platforms. If you really "need" to buy cryptocurrency, I'm sure your local nerd friend(s) can help you out.

Thanks. I will do that. However... I would also like to get on Bitfinex. There are some coins that only trade on certain exchanges. This is annoying. Specifically, I wanted to get some IOTA (MIOTA)  Not a lot. It just looks like one of several I wanted to add to my holdings. Mostly I use Bittrex. And they don't have it. After some research, I came to learn I could only get this via Bitfinex. Supposedly, it'll get added to Bittrex soon. (Or at least, that was in some random forum post I came across, but who knows?)

So, to make a long story even longer, if someone does have an invite code and would be kind enough to share one, please send me a message as I'd like to sign up.
