You can also mine other alt coins such as TRC, NMC, PPC, IXC, NVC, etc. BTC mining with GPUs will no longer be profitable in two weeks.

Speed-intensive ASICs such as Avalon's chips dont require much power as they dont have loads of hard memory being utilized. Scrypt is "ASIC-Proof" as you need large amount of resources to run its math, instead of brute force math. Bitcoin prices will also fluctuate in value. At current difficulty level, if the price goes down to 15 bucks, graphics cards will not be able to compete because of power used.
