What do you think the price of bitcoin would be on halving day 2020?

Bitcoin is growing at a very fast rate and i believe it will cross 4000$ mark by end of this year. On the day of halving it will certainly be near 10000$ per Bitcoin or so as miners also have to meet their expenses.

If the same growth takes place as of now, surely the price will reach at least a minimum of around $10000 and the same way if more and more Countries legalize bitcoin every year then it gets an increased chance of reaching $15000 by the 2020 halving.

around 10.000$ is highly possible if the growth stay stable and countries continue to legalize and start  accepting bitcoin more frequently.

I would say 32,000 USD because i think that btc will double it`s value every year.
The end of 2017-4000 USD
2018-8000 USD
2019-16000 USD
2020- 32000 USD
Let`s hope that nothing bad happens to bitcoin during that time.

yes that can really happen, just like the previous halving which really gave a great support to bitcoin. i am sure that in upcoming halving the price of bitcoin is also increase more and very much possible to reach to 10000 USD level. specially if the present  growth of bitcoin price continue.

If people still believe in Bitcoin as a good store of wealth then the price will go absolutely crazy and hopefully hit my long term target.
Still some risks though, I'm looking at volumes and surprisingly ETH has a higher USD volume than us now which is shocking.

It is difficult to predict the future price of bitcoin, but with what is happening now, I think its value will increase dramatically. But the important thing is its existence.

each year bitcoin price is rising at least 150% and this year we will see a much bigger rise because the mainstream adoption was ignited by Japan and that is like a rocket fuel!
so if we expect at least 200% rise each year in ~4 years we can see a 800% rise to $22000 but also as price goes higher and attracts more investors since the room for change is bigger the rise becomes a bit smaller so we can expect a price above $10,000 for sure if the current route bitcoin is on does not change in the future.

In a perfect environment without major scams & hacks or government interference and at this trend we might see between $5000+/BTC to $8000/BTC

A lot can still go wrong, but we are seeing more growth than we have seen before in many countries at once. I think we will get some strong competition

from some hyped up Alt coins, but that bubble will definitely burst soon... then those investors will flee back to safe heavens like Bitcoin.  ;D

Add one zero after 2020 that is $20,200 per bitcoin by next halving. I am quite optimistic regarding market trend we have right now. It is quite bullish and stronger than before. FUDs regarding hard fork or any other things can't have same level of psychological effect on traders these days like in past.

Satoshi said in the future, bitcoin could either have very high tracsaction or none at all. The same can be said about this topic. It is either very high or nothing at all. If all problems are solved, it could be used easily without high fees then the price can reach tens of thousands. Otherwise, nada.

50000 usd :)

It will depend on how much money flows in alternative cryptocurrencies. Assuming that Bitcoin's marketshare falls from current 45% to about 25% by 2020 and assuming that the total cryptocurrency asset class grows from 110 billion to about 50 trillion by 2020, I would estimate the market cap of BTC to reach 12.5 trillion by 2020. If the number of BTC by that time is 18 million, the value of one BTC would be around 700.000 usd.

This assumes that the USD maintains a reasonable rate of inflation against basic goods. If the whole financial and monetary system implodes under the weight of the global debt, then BTC would obviously go much higher in USD terms. In real terms, we can anticipate that, following the halving of 2020, the value of one BTC will be that of a very comfortable 3 bedrooms house.

If the marketshare of BTC falls to only 10%, then we would be closer to a value per BTC of 300.000 usd in current usd value.

Yep. I think I will be shifting to full alts before July ends.

Anyways regarding op, 2020 is still far. I agree with $10,000 providing no big issues and problems occur. Or else the alts party will eat bitcoin and some might surpass.

lol, you mean full altcoin adoption is going to happen in less than a month! and which altcoin would that be? everyone supports a different altcoin if push comes to shove!

there are many people who will tell you ripple is the coin to replace bitcoin.
there used to be a lot of them saying Dash is the coin to replace bitcoin.
there are so much more saying old coins such as litecoin will do it.
there are even irrational people who will tell you ethereum is the one!

and the funny part is not a single person in any of these groups has ever spend a single coin of any of these altcoins they keep advertising. the only transactions they ever made was from exchanges to their JAXX or other web wallets and back to exchange.

Bitcoin value will increase up to 4x from current value based on past experience.
Many country start to implement bitcoin so there will be a lot of demand for bitcoin will be main reason why this can happen.

Bitcoin is unique currency so it has unique way to grow ( in unexpected way )

In my own opinion, the price of Bitcoin will increase multiple times after the halving on 2020 because if the difficulty of mining and the countries that started to adapt it. Due to the adaptation, the demand of bitcoin increase which will lead to a price increase due to limited supplies.

You are right, I think after the halving bitcoin will increase too much, Maybe the price before 2020 increase and cross 5000$ which it's too possible, because  many country may started to adapt it soon. So more people use bitcoin more bitcoin will be more powerful.

What do you think the price of bitcoin would be on halving day 2020?

The price would be half the price of bitcoin on 2020, obviously.

Based from my crystal ball, the price of Bitcoin at the Bitcoin halving day would be around 12,000 USD. My crystal ball is a little blurry but that's the number I saw inside. That is based from doubling the Bitcoin's price every year. It's worth a shot to predict  ;D

This depends on alot of things. Would the world adapt by then? What would happen on the end of july's BIP148? Would bitcoin be 'banned' in some countries? Completely depends on alot of things.

Personally though, if everything goes well, probably more than $10,000.

I think average raised up the price of Bitcoin maybe 2000$/year in next time. If my think is right, in 2020 the price of bitcoin can up to ~10.000$, this is a good growth for Bitcoin and Crypto Market

Ohh. I never meant people or even myself fully adopting altcoins. I don't have hundreds of bitcoins yet so am shifting all altcoins before August. But later on when things gets clear, of course I will go back to mostly bitcoin and some selected alts.

That could happen eventually but I think its unrealistic to think that will happen by 2020. In fact I think its physically impossible for it to jump so high. My bet is around $10000 or $20000 as despite the current pumping it will have some minor and major crashes before we reach 2020.

At the current rising rate, I think we will be at or over the $10K mark by the time the 2020 halving hype even starts to kick in in full - barring any major/catastrophic negative news/events. At least that's what my amateur speculation senses are telling me.

Barring any catastrophic events negatively affecting bitcoin price and given the halving will occur amid or around the 2020 Summer OLypic Games being held in Japan, which we all know is the most bitcoin friendly country at the moment, my amateur opinion would put bitcoin price at somehwere in the $20k-$25K range. And this price prediction would be for a few months after the actual halving date.

As always it is very hard to predict future bitcoin price. We can only throw a wild guesses at this point.
There is no mathematics formula or technical indicator which will help us, bitcoin market is unlike any other asset, bond or stock.
I would be wary about throwing ridiculous high numbers here, there is very slim chance that bitcoin will be worth more than 20k after next halving.

So there will be a very high increase impact, I am optimistic the future will be much better.

We can actually understand were the price of bitcoin will be by just looking at what has happened in the past few years. Bitcoin has been in the bullish momentum since early last year and this is a sign that the future is very bright for bitcoin price. I think we should be above $20,000.

i think my prediction is about $15,000-$30,000 because if bitcoin can spread in many country then there will be many people know and start to using bitcoin. and in that time, the price will increase too because the demand and supply will not balance and the demand will be higher than supply. the bitcoin price will be too expensive to buy and only people which have a lot of money that could buy a whole bitcoin.

Impossible to predict, this pace is insanely fast and unstable.

There doesn't seem to be anything unstable about it.  Or volatile.  Or any of the other doom and gloom words.  The price certainly fluctuates, but the trend is what matters and every issue that causes alarm gets corrected within days or even hours and the trend keeps going up.  The trend is very stable.  If the price drops to 9K again, buy like crazy.

In about two and a half years I hope price will be much higher then today. We can play with numbers and make speculation about that, and like in lottery someone will always guess the real number.

Let's say the price goes up by 100% on year level, now we are between 10k$-11k$.

20k$ in 2018.
40$ in 2019.
50$ in mid of 2020.

Of course it can be more or less of this amount, and it much depend the extent to which bitcoin futures will affect on BTC.I would be happy with 50k$ on next halving, but I would not have anything against 100k$.What matters is a steady growth through the years,so if price go up only 50% every year for me it would be an excellent achievement.

The price can reach incredible points.

We're at $11k now and have over 4 weeks left in the year. Let's say we end the year at $13k.

I think next year a 3-5x of the price is reasonable considering current growth trends and Wall St. likely entering the game next year. Let's be conservative and say it will only 3x. That gives us $39k end of 2018.

In 2019 I think another 2x is a reasonable and conservative prediction so that would give us $78k.

About a half year left to get to the halving. Let's say it'll gain another roughly 30% by then so that'll put it right around the nice big round figure of:

$100k

Halving is a big event for Bitcoin and Bitcoiners,
the price will be increased at least for more than 10% from our average price,
because the rewards that we will get whenever we're solving the blocks will be decreased a half from before.
but to reach some point we can not put too much our hope into it alone because it's not a healthy growth for bitcoin,
at best it will only survive for a year or two years and then slowly dying if we're placing your hope too much into it alone,
we need a discovery in the system and network to make the price steadier from before and then the halving as a gas to push the price.
$20.000~$50.000 is a range for current Bitcoin right now and if we're moving for more than that while we do not have anything to discover or improvement,i think Bitcoin will become a bubble in the future.

Because the demand has increased a lot than the past days, along with more investment coming from the common people. My target is to keep hold of it targeting the halving.

Thanks for this topic. I had forgot that we'll have a halving in the next 2 years. That will be madness because bitcoin offer will get lower along with block reward. Maybe that's the reason that McAfee keep saying btc will reach 500k usd. I am more realistic and I would say something arouns 50k usd.

What do you think the price of bitcoin would be on halving day 2020?
We are 3 years away from that day, can we focus on what's happening now? I think this thread is just irrelevant, like everyone creating threads for speculation like, What do you think the price on 2018,2019 and now 2020?. This is not helping, if you want to speculate on Bitcoin ,can we speculate it's price by the end of year or early next year,

We can do whatever we want here you pipsqueak.

The halving is probably two and a half years away but it could arrive sooner or later than we expect depending on hardware and fork stealing power.

Who knows what'll happen between now and then? This current run could end early next year and be bearish until then. I think we all know that deep down this exuberance has to be paid for at some point. If it hasn't been by 2020 then it'll be a beast when it arrives.

2017 is a super charged year for BTC, and now standing at 11000, I would say if there will be no strong negative news, we will no longer see price below 8000 any more.

2018... the war between btc and bch will heat up, this may create some volatility. but combined BTC BCH BTG value may go above 20k~30k.

That particular war is already over as far as many are concerned.

They had their chance in the earlier days with the EDA swings and super pumps. Plenty of exchanges are reclassifying it as bcash which'll seal the deal.

Bitcoin is about to reach the next level of legitimacy and everything else will be trailing it.

BCH isn't going anywhere but it isn't superseding anything either.

I Guess halving is going to be around 2019. And this will be priced in 2018 not 2019.
People will start to go long on bitcoin before halving day and on halving day too many investors will be in huge profit.

The next halving is scheduled to take place by 2020. Already 2020 has been expected to be something a great year in the cryptocurrency network. Along with this expectation the halving will provide with a large benefits as growth is promised to take place by those days. Hope to see the price to be above $30000 to the minimum by that time.
By then its use will have become popular even more, and with the decrease of the reward in half, it will become more rare and scarce, the mining will only be done by a few because the equipment will be extremely expensive , as that date approaches almost to the beginning of 2020 most people will surely be talking about this issue in the main forums like this, without a doubt, it will be a very relevant event that will become more important when the date be closer and closer.

I think you are having a misguided idea of the halving, while the halving does have an effect on the price of bitcoin, the effect it is not immediate, it takes some time, probably a few months before the number of coins in the market begins to go down and the market begins to feel this lack on the supply of bitcoin coming from the miners.

I still believe no bear phase will kick in until we reach 100k USD minimum. This will take some time and i can't estimate it in any way :)

The upcoming halving is expected to take place by the year 2020. Experts have predicted the days till 2022 to be best for the growth of bitcoin as well digital currency. Based upon the same, can expect good results at the time of halving, as we've years ahead the growth can be felt in a large scale based on the ongoing growth. I believe by the time of halving surely we can see the price of bitcoin to be above $100000.
