Title: Predictions for the required May 15 upgrade to 0.8.1
Post by: Elwar on May 05, 2013, 09:59:13 PM
At the top of the forum it shows:
All users of Bitcoin-Qt/bitcoind versions 0.7.2 and earlier are required to upgrade to 0.8.1 or apply a manual workaround by May 15.

What do you think will happen on May 15?

Those who are new already have the 0.8.1 version, those who are longer on board should have some clue about this.
So I think there will be a bit of trouble, but not that much.

I hope so...I can see a few people posting about transaction problems.

Though people who do not visit this site will have no clue about it so we may not even know if someone is having trouble.

It is my understanding that those using the 0.7.2 or earlier clients will receive a warning dialogue box if they fail to upgrade in time, alerting them of the issue.

Yeah didn't that happen last time? When the chain forked I seem to remember getting a warning pop up in the client.
