Title: Reduction in post count
Post by: hosseinimr93 on June 12, 2017, 07:39:03 AM
Hi every one.
Last night before I went to bed my post count was 62. Today I got up, I opened my profile in bitcointalk and I saw that my post count is 61.
I cant' find out which post has deleted.
Is there anyone who is allowed to delete our posts. If yes why? Is it better if they notify us before that We know the reason.

Well the mods do have the power to remove the threads. Either you spammed or there was already a thread for that discussion. You can contact the mods and ask them the the exact reason for deletion.

Because you posted in a thread that was trashed.

And as I read this, your post count is 63, not 62 as it would be after this post -- right?

There are few things which may be happened:
Whole thread where you posted was moved to trashcan by moderator.
Moderator deleted only your post because it was off-topic, but after that you would receive notification.
You posted in self-moderated thread and creator of thread decided to delete your post. But after that you also would receive notification.

So when mods move a thread to trashcan it deducts the post from our post count but it wont send a notification to us? silent deletion I see, and no body can access trashcan, now I know why sometimes I see my post counting backwards thinking that I'm delusional, what else you sneaky mods are doing while we're sleep, maybe taking us to the mother ship and do nasty experiments on us? triple lol.

Yes. I remember trashing a huge thread full of spam once. Fun times.

It's not deletion the way that deletion is usually defined. If they delete a post or thread, then they can't recover it without an admin (or possibly only theymos). When you trash a thread, the posts no longer count and it's no longer visible. However, moderators can restore it themselves. It's the equivalent of moving it from one second to another basically (with one having post count turned off).

I don't know why they kicked you out of moderation team other than for some stupid reason(s) but I really feel the lack of moderation most of the times but not always.
It was a stupid thread by a newbie posting a referral or possibly hack link with something like /root in the link which I should've reported it instead of replying nothing important.
I just noticed it because when I post I refresh the page every 5-10 minutes to see if any interesting replies been posted or not or to check my spelling by reading my posts a few times over.
