If they offer to sell an item, you might send them the money and nothing is sent on to the customer.

Generally this type of scam involves the other person never sending the item to the buyer, resulting in you (the person listing items) getting hit with the bill for the refund when you dont even have the money(because you sent the money to the person running scam -25%).
Of course this could be legitimate, but there is a 99.99% chance it isnt.
