I believe most people (including myself) who use Bitcoin do not even understand the basic underlying technology of the blockchain. I have been using Bitcoin for multiple years, and am in my 20's with a decent idea of how to code websites, technology, etc. and this stuff is still confusing to me. I get how it works essentially though, which is all that matters. Let the devs do their thing, I am not a developer nor intend to be. I will keep this bookmarked ,since I see a lot of people who are unsure what a blockchain ledger or a smartcontract actually is, so I can refer to your article and help them out.
