It must be frustrating for so many projects to slap his name as advisor on their whitepaper just for the marketing. That's deceiving and shady. :/

Exactly. I thought he was advising the team on day to day basis. But here the story is different. Look at Tenx, Vitalik is there but as a Investor. New way to use his name.

I do remember reading things like "Advisor: Vitalik Buterin" on whitepapers (when all of the other people listed had their names listed in other ways) and thinking that it felt very much like a marketing scam.

What about new projects like Primalbase then? If no Vitalik and Sasha then nobody would invest that project. Vitalik is right about payments, if projects didn't pay him for his advisor status then they havd no right to use his name and photo. Let's see what will happen for next projects.
