Popular cryptocurrency wallet and exchange Coinbase went offline on Monday evening and continues to be unavailable to users. As the company assures, the reason was a large influx of visitors and high trading volumes.

Coinbase is currently experiencing high traffic & customers have receive a "service unavailable" message when visiting Coinbase.com. We appreciate your patience while our team actively works to resolve this issue...

They had a similar reasoning a few weeks ago as well along with Poloniex, both were saying it was due to the extremely high influx of users.  Really needs to be sorted out as we move forward and more people come on board.

Yesterday I watched the price dropping while trying to place an order.
The coinbase delay cost me like $50 in BTC value.  >:(
