Title: Long term altcoin investing..
Post by: amberg on June 13, 2017, 08:50:11 PM
I am sitting on a few BTC and ETH in hopes that they continue to rise.
There are a few other coins out there that I'd like to hold for long term, Siacoin and Digibyte for now.
My BTC and ETH are on Coinbase, but of course the others aren't offered there.
I have a Poloniex account, but I'm a bit weary of having a long term investment there considering I make my purchases with BTC and it's value is everchanging

TIA!

I suggest moving your coins to bittrex since their exchange isn't full of problems and it has the best security of any exchange out there. It also has a much wider selection of coins, many with real promise that Polo doesn't currently list.

For me Aragon and Swarmcity are the best ones to hold for the long term.

Thank you! I've taken a look at Bittrex, it's seems I also have to purchase with either BTC/ETH. At this point, is it safe to assume I have to purchase all other alts with one of the two(BTC/ETH) I really wish I could purchase with USD!

I've heard good things about Aragon, but nothing on Swarmcity. I'll look into that one too.

Yeah unfortunately there is no direct fiat gateway on bittrex, they do however offer trades between USDT and bitcoin. I don't think there are currently any deposit or withdrawal facilities for USDT though unfortunately.

Be careful with Poloniex because recently there were lots of complaints that wirthdrawals are confirmed manually and it took me almost a week to get the funds

Exactly, he could gamble on if dash is going to hit mainstream but currently he needs to watch for the next big thing.

Even though they're still < .05? I've heard speculation that they'd get up to a dollar.

$180+ right now, I don't know what dash you're on about.
