My favorite team is Portugal because there are all its top players including Cr7, unlike Germany who have an experimental team

I can not understand the good odds for Germany. All the top players from Germany are on vacation. Only the second row will travel to Russia. In contrary to Portugal where even Christino Ronaldo will participate on the tournament. For that reason I think Portugal is the clear fovourite. Chile and Mexico are my secret favorites for the tournament title.

Germany and Portugal will be the most favourite teams and would be good to see in the final matches Germany vs Portugal if suppose there but do not underestimate Chille because sometimes the teams from Latin America will playing with amazing performance

For me Portugal and Chile will be the ultimate final.
I believe Chile will take the cup after winning the first place on group B.
Portugal will have harder time when they will face Germany on the semifinal.
But then again, you should never underestimate the Germans...

I completely agree with you on this point, I'm going to support Portugal as well, Cristiano Ronaldo is the main fighter for Portugal, and he is in super form. His scoring hungry makes him the best, not only Cr7 but also Andre Silva, Coentro, Pepe and Andre Gomez are in-form, so I'm going to bet with Portugal...

Portugal were lucky the last time the won the Euro cup this time they have to prove themselves in the Fifa Confederations Cup

The hosts might have a longshot to be crowned champions but my money will be on Chile and Russia

I think, Portugal is going to show their real power tonight, last match they played well but unfortunately they shared a point with Mexico, so this match is very important to confirm as a group champion, if they can't be assured of this then they will face Germany in the semi final..

Germany has by the looks of it their 2nd tier team for the Confederation Cup. If I were you I would bet carefully on any Germany matches and not use high stakes because upsets can happen 100%. Just look at the match vs Australia.

actually this is could be an tight matches because Russia has starting confederation cup with good result with win 2-0 against New Zealand but Portugal still cannot win against Mexico however as home team Russia will do more trying to not lost to keep their chance went to next round but Portugal also don't want to humiliated in this match and i personally more prefer to pick both teams to score because difficult to predict which teams will be the winner

I actually wanted to stay away from betting on soccer matches during the summer. But the confederations cup has aroused my interest. The matches have been very predictable so far. Portugal beat Russia today what was not a surprise at all. Portugal is the clear favorite for the tournament because Germany only plays with players from the second row.
For the matches tomorrow, I go for wins of Cameroon and Germany.

I think portugal will be in final, and the opponents is between Germany and Chile. The group stage will not be a problem for Portugal.

i'm pretty sure Portugal will be one of the teams who able to reach semifinal match because they will met weak team New Zealand but for Mexico they have to beware for home team Russia because if they lost the possibility to went to next round will be gone and Russia will taking over their position indeed Mexico only need draw results but Russia will do more efforts because as home team the fans will want more

Cristiano Ronaldo has got another chance to give a reward for Portugal, this is the first time Portugal is playing this cup, but their team is too strong to get the champion. Ronaldo is in-form to score anytime for the team. So hopefully Portugal will win this competition...

I think if we do this, we will probably follow a tasteful semi-final series, as germany has a slightly younger staff and portuguese has a slightly more mature cast.

They have a very young squad, i think the German national team are doing very well, in their last game against Chile, with the exception of a few defensive mistakes, i think the team was solid. It was a great idea by Joachim Leow to test his young team in the confederation cup, even if they don't win, they will get the necessary experience for the future.

Tomorrow its most probably possible for Portugal to win again New Zealand and Mexico against Russia.
Portugal has a good team, but there is Germany in Semi-final with Portugal most probably, if they both win their upcoming matches. And Germany is too good, overall performer.

Portugal would be able to qualify for the semi-finals quite easily as their last match opponent in group A would be New Zealand who found themselves stuck at the bottom of the group with two defeats, with nothing to fight for, New Zealand might even send out their youngster to gain some experience against big teams in tournament. I just don't see how New Zealand could stop Cristiano Ronaldo from firing Portugal to the next stage, my bets would be on Portugal  :)

I don't think possible is the right to use because Portugal are definitely going to win New Zealand and top the group and they will be facing Germany which will be blockbuster should the Germans have brought most of their star players.

Who will win this Confedarations Cup ???

By affinity of course I would like to see Mexico gaining the cup, but in this country nobody is happy with the game system that coach Juan Carlos Osorio has imposed on the Tricolor with his absurd "rotation system".

But for the level of play, my first favorite is Chile, the second Portugal and then Germany. I see Chile more complete, committed and better armed, taking the cup seriously.

The host country, Russia need to beat Mexico for the qualification of play-offs. Russia will surely fail in my opinion, they have no quality to fight against Mexico. Chicharito are starting today after rested for one game, this made Russia's hope for advance become more smaller. I think this game will probably end draw.

Portugal and Mexico already qualified to the next round but the promising performance showed by Portugal with destroy New Zealand 4-0 and they will wait their upcoming opponents next however according to predictions of many people that maybe Chille and Germany will qualified too

I do not know why Ronaldo is so great. He is the most complete attacker of our time. He runs fast, he passes his opponent beautifully, he kicks the ball hard and accurately, he jumps high, he's strong, and most importantly he scores a lot of goals. Even the influence of his presence in the national team is felt.

We will see Germany taking on Cameroon for the last match in group B, Germany would just need a point to make it into the semi finals. Being one of the European powerhouse, I believe Germany would be aiming for a win rather than a draw since they have sufficient firepower to take down Cameroon. My bets would be Germany to win in full time on this match  :)

I think Chile and Germany will advance to the next stage and both of them will try to avoid to meet with Portugal in the play-off. Hence, in my opinion, both Chile and Germany will try to win the game, not just satisfied with the draw result.

Germany is gonna face Portugal and Chile is going to face Mexico and i believe Portugal will eventually win the trophy for the very first time. Ronaldo is rejuvenated and playing excellently.

You are right both Australia and Cameroon are much weaker teams but I hope they'll show some spirit and won't allow themselves to be crushed. Especially Australia vs Chile is going to be sad to watch. One of the weakest teams facing one of the strongest...
Germany vs Portugal can be hard to predict, to me that's anybody's game. Depends on their condition, weather and such.

I think Australia put in a very good performance against Chile to come a draw 1-1 I had a bet on both teams to score as someone pointed out in this thread that Australia do score in most of their games even though they lose or draw so I decided to take that as it was the safer option in my opinion. Well Australia are now out and Chile advance to the next stage to now take on Portugal which will be an entertaining match and Germany take on Mexico. Both games are going to be good to watch and I can't wait.

Germany surprised me, even with their B team they are doing great. They surely are one of the favorites for the next World Cup.

Germany won the match by 3-1. this was expected match we thought only draw enough for Germans, but they won this game by 2 points lead. I hope so too, to see an all European final. Our teams are better compared to Latin America most of the time but I am a bit afraid of Chile who may be a surprise for all of us and qualify for the final. After all they have the quality players to do that and Portugal was never known for having a good defense, they have always conceded goals even to weaker teams compared with Chile.

Can anyone explain to me how the referee in the Germany and Cameroon game gave two red cards to two different players for the same offences and he didn't even come out to explain his action afterwards.

The only player who kicked off with a red card was No. 2 of Cameroon - Ernest Mabouka.
The referee made a mistake, then he checked in the video and corrected his mistake.
At the end only one player came off.

I guess the Colombian referee mixed between two look-alike players.

I beg to differ but rather think Chile is going to eliminate Portugal at the semi finals and Germany will rather have an easy one against Mexico so it might not be an all European final like you're predicting. I see it differently.

I would not be surprised if Germany is beaten at the final by whichever of the 2 teams you mention. I would not be surprised because Germany squad has mainly taken young players and is using this confederations cup as a test for them to see which one is suited to be part of the main squad. Portugal and Chile has gotten in this tournament some of their best players so that makes a difference. If Germany was to have the full team here, no other team can beat them.

Portugal vs Chile : Portugal easily qualified first in the group A of Confederations Cup they started rough against Mexico but later they had 2 wins and now they will be having a difficult game against Xhile the semi finals. On the other hand Chile is South American champion and won Copa America in 2 consecutive years, so they are very good side which knows how to play in knock out games and the last meeting between those two ended with 1-1. Now, Portugal are in good form with strong performance in defense and 2 consecutive clean sheets and Chile knows how to do it right so i expect and under 2.5 goals in the game

You know, it's these types of matches that make me gamble so foolishly. Perhaps a parlay on Mexico (29/10 on 888sport) and Chile (11/5 on most places) are just too difficult but this will see me split a bet 60% Portugal (4/6) 20% Germany (11/10)and 20% the opposite parlay. For the game Portugal vs Chile I predict a good both teams to score YES to happen in this game. I think it will be a fairly easy win as both teams are well known for their attacking style of play and both teams are not good at defending. I think that today game will be difficult to predict the wonner of it Germany is a big team but they decided to bring all youngsters in to test them and add them the best of them to the main squad while mexico have been good at offense scoring two goals in each game of their last 3 games with Germany is looking better as they have showed good potentiel at a young age while Mexico were in a slightly more difficult group, with the Portuguese side, Portugal, and the hosts Russia  But both teams also have some problems in their defenses, while the attack is very good. I think that Germany will win this game and the cup too. I know they have young players but Germany has a big history of winning many world cups and european cups. They are germany afterall, they can do alot even without their key player. Their player's average are above those of mexico therefore they could win it easily. The Germans were ruthless in attack and they destroyed the Mexicans with just 10 minutes of play, the Mexicans had some great chances as well but failed to utilize them and that brought their downfall. I am quite surprised to see the progress of this young german squad, they have done very well.

Despite only lowering the young players and many people who think that Germany does not respond to Fifa Confederations cup seriously, but Germany is still Germany, they are still one of the best in the world. I'm even sure Germany can be the champion this time. And this is a good capital for some world cup in the future.

Indeed, i'm not sure Chile can hold germany 90 minutes like they do to Portugal in the last match. I think Germany will win with many goals, but i hope Chile is not lose their hope and play with their best. Portugal vs Mexico will be comoeting for the bronze medal of FIFA Confederations Cup with both teams  failed to prove that tgey are good to be in the final they have now atleast show their best as bith of them showed some moteriel earlier and tgat made them want to go to the final in this tournament so I expect an open game here without pressure for both teams and a lot of goals. In the group finished 2-2 in the head to head meeting also Mexico have a very good offensive line but they are strungling with defense while Portugal propably have slightly better defense but at the end i expect to see bith of them scoring.

I agree with you. I expected a different posture from Portugal, a more aggressive one. They could have won that game if they pushed the game a little more. Germany brought their B team, but they are now in the Final, and they are still very strong, so I guess this one will go for Germany. If Portugal had reached final, then I think Portugal would win.

Without Ronaldo Mexico is clearly favored for me. Mexico was a bit unlucky in the game against Germany as they started badly in the game. After the fast 2-0 the game was difficult to win. But overall, I think Mexico is better than Portugal. The odds of @3.2 for a win of Mexico are also very attractive.

Germany vs Chile. I think game will be similar to what we saw in group stay and both teams try to not risk. If we will see penalty shootout, it will be unpredictable. Last penalty shootouts for Chile in Copa America finals and semi final against Portugal was successful. But we all know that Germany almost never loose on penalties.

It looks like Germany have higher chances to win this clash. The two teams faced each other at group stages where in the game saw it end with 1-1 draw. Although Germany had one day less for preparations but they had an impressive semiefinals as they advanced to the final rather comfortably (4:1 Mexico) whereas Chile needed there goalkeeper strenghs at penalty kicks against Portugal to go further with them playing 30 minurd more time in extra halfs so i expect from this game to have Germany as a winner they look more stable now i was afraid in the semiefinals that Mexico could be a difficult task for the young team but after that game i don't think that Chile will stop them.

German young team is ready to take challenge against Chile, I think German side is too strong to beat Chile. Germany is very strong at every side on the other hand Chile has one of the best goalkeeper, Bravo is very strong on the pitch, specially in the spot kick. They put too much meaning into a test-competition, little wonder they squandered the chances they got. Rolling in tenth gear, overheated, was not necessarily the best precondition for calmness in front of goal. I think they wouldn´t have scored even for if they played the whole day.

Chile did play really great against Germany in the final, and was unlucky to be denied the trophy with a serious defensive mistake that gives Germany the victory with a score of just 1-0. Being the hot favorites to win the tournament, Germany performance in the final are simply not up to expectation, on the other hand Chile did play a very wonderful offensive football the whole match and was very unfortunate not to score even one goal to make it into extra time.

Chile players did play their best for the full 90 minutes and there is always a price to pay for an defensive error especially in big tournaments, hopefully Chile would learn from this painful mistake and improve themselves to become a better team in the future.

Congrats to Germany on winning the Confederations Cup final. They have completed the double winning the World Cup and now this cup which isn't easy to do so a lot of credit goes to the players and manager for winning. Chile also had a very good tournament and deserved to be in the final but like always a defensive error 95% of the time costs the team games and more so in big finals like this but they should be proud with their efforts in this tournament.

yeah Chile had sole good chances to equalize but they run out of luck this tile also the ref was not a help and mostly he was a joke but at the end Germany deserved this great acherivement and they managed to dod this with most of their elite players not participating also this win came two days after Germany U21 team.won the U21Euro Cup and they alqo could used some players that joined the first team so we can say that Germany have secured thei futur with so many young talents in their ranks and they mostly be dominating football for the next two world cups.

I still think it was quite sad that Portugal didn't reach the final, after missing all their penalties, because if they made it to the final, I don't think Germany would have a chance. It will be interesting how many of these players we will see in World Cup next year. This young squad prooved what they can. But main Germany squad is already full of great players... For example, Ter-Stegen played great in this competition, but Germany have absolute No. 1 Neuer in GK position. Similar situation in other positions
