Posted on behalf of mjr: Hi All, I rarely come on this forum, but I figured I should let you know about this. Apparently, this is the only place I could post. Tomorrow, We will be starting the first open outcry exchange for bitcoins. We are doing this in Union Square Park, NYC at 4:00pm. The reasons behind this are many, and I hope obvious. I hope this becomes a new model for bitcoin exchange, ending reliance on single points of failure, as well as lowering barriers to entry in to bitcoin and easing financial friction resulting in a much more efficient market. I think a distributed model is most in keeping with the bitcoin ethos (act locally/connect globally). This project addresses some things which localbitcoins.com lacks, while also addressing some major issues with the electronic exchanges.
