As the ICO for SONM is about to begin, we have prepared a Profile of the company.

SONM is a decentralized, open source structure where users can buy and sell computing power while building a market profitable to both.  SONM uses fog computing, which unlike existing cloud-based computational systems (Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and others) which use a centralized system where they utilize their own servers and computational power to achieve the same result.

Fog computing is defined in Wikipedia as:

An architecture that uses one or more collaborative multitude of end-user clients or near-user edge devices to carry out a substantial amount of storage (rather than stored primarily in cloud data centers), communication (rather than routed over the internet backbone), control, configuration, measurement and management (rather than controlled primarily by network gateways such as those in the LTE core network).

The internet backbone can be defined as the use of strategically interconnected computer networks and core routers on the Internet.  While the bigger cloud-based computing companies use their own interconnected networks, SONM uses a different approach.

As the ICo was about to begin, https://sonm.io/ crashes.  Slack channel going crazy.  People contributing to wrong wallets.  Its a mess

Maybe more people interested in this project ICOs and random created a huge traffic to homepage (Team SOMN not think about that and unprepared good hosting or backup sever). I think we can wait devs sever somn fixed it and buy token, recomend don't try buy token when have issue!

There was a bit of a controversy in the beginning as a thread was opened by one of the former team members claiming that they did not pay him and kicked out from the project and from then we now have all these mess,some thing is wrong with the project or someone is trying to tarnish the project,with these sort of uncertainity it will be really difficult to be successful.

Just did my largest ico contribution so far to sonm. Hope the project will realize.

Not yet, SOMN will start to distribute the coins only after the ICO end.

The amounts of money people are throwing at these ico's are crazy. They will learn...

It's clear that the ICO madness is in full effect, it's just the site getting too much traffic and hence not being able to load. All those ICOs get bought in seconds. BAT got sold in seconds, Bancor too, all those ICOs... its crazy. And there's still Civic and Tezos to come, which will get sold fast as hell too.

I think this is due to influx of investors and other persons who wants to get more info about the ICO's. We know that SONM has a great project also, that is why the community is eager enough to be part of the said good project.Hope they fixed it already, more investors are waiting.  :D

As per twiiter post its fixed now.

"SONM team apologizes for the problems with BTC and altcoins investments. Now we've fixed all the bugs and you can participate."

Well  this is a sigh of relief. I hope this announcement is final and a hope or good news to investors or would be investors out there. This is a good project also that will be worth investing.

I am not telling that this thing is a scam, but I have doubts with SONM. 46million USD market cap for a computing platform which is for me, not ideal. Well let us see what will happen in the near future.

It is hard to rely on the crowdsale page https://ico.sonm.io/ as the number actually went down as to how much contributed

So what's wrong with the SONM project, because I do not really know about this ICO, but I see the SONM project is still running well, how can it be said to strike, I do not quite understand for this.

I do not have a good feeling about this project. Anyhow, just hope that they will soon fix it so that investors do not worry about this issue anymore. Hope that this ICO will success and people will earn some money from it

Isn't that just plain weird for an ICO toting supercomputer capabilities for their product and their site crashes due to overload.
Why didn't they just use the algo of this supercomputer to run the site. :D

That might be the best message about the whole thing.
