So I am using the guiminer with a cpu. And I am trying to use the slush pool. When I open the miner it automatically selects this pool. But on the site www.mining.bitcoin.cz they say to use the new url: http://api.bitcoin.cz:8332. Is this the same as the one sleceted by the miner or should I change it? And when that's done, I start mining. Does that mean I have entered the pool? And when a block is found, how will I know, and how long is this going to take? Title: Re: What now? Post by: Gabi on June 20, 2011, 12:07:57 PM Just download the latest guiminer, it has http://api.bitcoin.cz as address for slush's pool so you will automatically use the right address.
As for rewards and blocks, just check the website! http://www.mining.bitcoin.cz/ login and check :D The pool is proportoinal, that mean, for every block the pool find, the users are rewarded based on how many shares they sent during the search for that block.
