Title: Where can I sell digital downloads for Bitcoin?
Post by: marketorder on June 16, 2017, 03:37:15 PM
I have been using Mycellium Gear and had nothing but problems with them. People pay the invoices in full and it says underpaid all the time. I looked at satoshibox.com but the reviews don't look that great. Anyone know any reliable service where I can sell my my digital downloads for Bitcoin?

https://wiki.foxycart.com/integration:foxycart:self_hosted_downloads.

P.S. How about trying WordPress+WooCommerce+Bitcoin?

If you are looking for sites like satoshibox, then you can find quite a few links here - https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1nbnrf/comment/cch5qf2.

You could try selly.gg (https://selly.gg)
I already used them to sell one gift card and it was very simple and fast to setup.

It's very similar to satoshibox but with many more features like:
- Sell your products for BTC, ETH, LTC, Dash, Credit Card and Paypal.
- Choose the number of confirmations on the transaction required to deliver your product to the buyer.

What did you use to set up your own website?  it can make a difference with integrated another site into the mix.  the third party sites can integration into most site commerce software well, but some can be pretty fussy and just not work right.

You can use Selly.gg. They charge just 2.5% on larger Bitcoin transactions. They have great features there.
Openbazaar is also one that let you buy and sell freely and get paid in Bitcoin. There is another wich is popular but I don't remember the name (Hex...) I am surprised nobody mentionned it

I think the service of selly.gg are good for small transaction free service but for large transaction they are giving 2.5% gateway for miners fee..
And many members of bitcointalk are using this site like in digital goods section many seller using selly.gg
and never heard any issue about it..
I was using their service too in selling methods in facebook before.. never had any issue..

This is what I am already doing. I just started recently. I too like to suggest to go for it.

Why not start your own website with free content management system like WordPress, free shopping cart plugins like woocommerec or digital downloads and a free bitcoints gateway plugin?

i will also ask one question that bears some on the issue and it is just a question....are you digital products legit or scams, because there are a few sites out there that not only ban you, but actively put out info that you are scamming.

i know not much about the site, but selly.gg is out there, unfortunately they take both dash and bitcoin.  dash is a dead dog floating in the water.   i do not know if you can force dash out of the site or exchange dash for btc on the site or not, but if you get paid in dash, dump that balance quick

I was going to suggest that site, also you can set up your own for very little money and use an API from something like coinbase.  It is easy to do and gives you more control over the way things are laid out.  Combine the two and make sure that whatever site, like selly.gg you use, that you include a link to your site during the sales.

You can list stuff for sale on Peerhub, and get paid in Steem or Steem Dollars (which can be exchanged for bitcoin). It works a bit like ebay

Ever tried Bitify? I've bought once from this service and yes I've had a good experience with it.

Do not take money from the site that you are using, but suggest it for the next sale. Although you can find many sites which can give digitial downloads by paying bitcoins

I recently finished my side project that does what you ask (supports BTC, LTC and DASH), check it out: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2011056.0 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2011056.0)
After a successful payment it provided download links to the customer that will be valid for 24 hours.

Bitify is decent, but there's just so many sellers on there nowadays (especially for digital products) that it'll be a bit difficult to sell your products at the beginning. It's a decent marketplace for both the seller and buyer overall, and I've also used it for over 20 transactions on different accounts.

I have also found that Rocketr (https://rocketr.net/) is popular on various other communities online for selling products. It's a lesser-used alternative to Selly.GG, and it's just as good for processing crypto transactions and the like. Also very user-friendly. They also accept payment via PayPal if you wish to take that as payment, and for the most part accepting payment via PayPal is safe as PayPal doesn't offer buyer protection for digital items AFAIK. I did research on this a few days back, and I haven't seen anyone report get burned accepting PayPal on Rocketr.
