Title: Trying to find source code of Bitcoin clients version < 0.3.24 Post by: Sergio_Demian_Lerner on May 06, 2013, 07:39:52 PM The source codes of the Satoshi Client prior 0.3.24 have been removed from the sourceforge repository. I don't know why.

Bitcoin didn't start in git, but I believe that old versions were all pushed up and tagged a while back, possibly in April of 2011. I found that on github you can access any old release by tag (instead of by branch) For example, here https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/tree/v0.4.0 you can browse the 0.4.0 branch.
