AMD and Nvidia Creating Cryptocurrency Mining GPUs to Ease off Gaming Graphics Card Demand Is it real or fake news? I'm reading a lot that the GPUs are being produced for mining only purpose but I haven't seen a trusted website that has said this. But I think that this can't be completely true, as they will produce also gaming GPUs at the same time but will maybe be focused more in the mining part and in the power efficiency to spend less power. Yep, my thoughts exactly. No trusted website but it does make sense if it occurs as it will ensure the gamers get the GPUs they want. I am sure AMD does not wanna lose that to nvidia. Post by: QuintLeo on June 29, 2017, 09:50:18 PM There are at least a half dozen threads on the "mining specific cards" on Bitcointalk - some Nvidia specific some AMD at least one for both.
As it happens, I just ordered https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=14-202-292 So at least SOME of the cards mentioned are legit. It doesn't appear to be AMD and NVidia themselves that are creating the cards - it's partners like Sapphire and ASUS (verified on their own websites and Sapphire has at least *3* cards listed on Newegg), Galax has also shown up in at least one video I think, MSI has at least one that showed up in a video, EVGA and a couple others are rumoured to be getting in as well but I've not seen verified info on those *YET*. |
