Title: 6x asus gtx 1070 mining rig
Post by: SLOguy on June 19, 2017, 01:35:28 PM
Hello all!
I have a mining rig with the following components:
Motherboard: ASUS PRIME Z270-A LGA1151
Processor:INTEL G3900 3,3GHz BOX LGA1151
RAM: SODIMM DDR4 Intenso Value 4GB 2133MHz PC4-17000
SSD: TRANSCEND(TS64GSSD370S) 64GB SATA3 2,5" Bulk
2x Power supply: GIGABYTE B700H 700W ATX
6x GPU's: ASUS DUAL-GTX1070-O8G GeForce GTX 1070 8GB
6x PCI-E Express 1X to 16X graphics card Riser Card USB 3.0 Extender Cable with Power Supply

I mine with claymore pool on w10 - about 180+h/s
For now it is stable exept of 1 interuption per day with claymore it says that the program is shuting down 5/6 cards. So only 1 card mines with 30h/s and other 5 have 0h/s. If i close and open the miner again all works fine again.
Has someone some optimal settings in the msi afterburner for this tipe of rig? Currently i have power 100, core 100, memory 580 and fan 80.

Thanks for the answers ;)

I would put fan to 100%, since lower temperature is better performance of electronics.
Try lowering steadly settings since its only way to find out stable result.

Is it safe to use two PSUs for a single rig?  Could this be the reason? I don't know never tried.
Are you using powered risers? Faulty (cheap) risers are also quite common issue.
How about temperatures? Do you check them?

Simple solution could be some script restarting your rig every 10 hours. Definitely not prefered but quick solution.

I have risers listed above 9e per piece. Temperature is about 60c average. I think the psus are not the reason...

Ok, your temps are very good, pretty sure this is not the cause.
Maybe you could move this topic to altcoin minign section  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=160.0  there should be more people involved into mining rigs stuff (here we should discuss only BTC related things)
