Title: Name of some small coins with a stable price and a growing community
Post by: Nathan047 on June 19, 2017, 02:30:00 PM
I'm not really looking for unstable coins that could go 100x or to 0, I'm more so looking for some small coins that are relatively stable, have a growing and active community, and have some decent long term potential. Any suggestions?

I was looking at blocknet recently, the idea seems good, but the problem is I recently learned that the main dev on there is a former scammer (or at least, accused of scamming, not sure if it is a fact or not)

They have recently delivered a video making a successful decentralized exchange between two nodes tho... so that's something. The problem I see is, if you want a liquid exchange, you can't count on full nodes only, I think they are considering SPV too but not sure how it would be decentralized at that point.

I would recommend burst. Growing community, it definitely is. With bitsler adding it to their coin option, with burst nation radio, and all those that will put burst in the limelight.
Anyways just saying. :)

I would recommend Anoncoin. It is a bit old, being launched in 2013. But after years of dormancy, the community is growing now and more and more exchanges are adding it as one of their currencies. There is even a dedicated Wiki about Anoncoin.

I researched Anocoin a bit now after your suggestion, and first thing that I saw and liked is `ANONCOIN WILL BE AVAILABLE NO MATTER WHAT THE AUTHORITIES DO` that is really something, anonymity is something that attract masses, look at zcash, and monero, if they can deliver this then they can have very nice future. I saw a list of exchanges that support Anoncoin but I`m not register in any of them, what is the current price of this coin?

For my understanding there are mostly 3 coins.
First one is eth as it has been become way more popular now and soon within few years it has a chance of overtaking bitcoin and going above $1000.
Second one would be xmr as the current trend is buy at 0.019 and sell at 0.02 but as you said you want for a long term there is a high chance we see it reach 0.03 or even 0.04 by end of this year.
Third one would be doge and for this one i would say in long term you won't get as much as profit as you would get from other coins but you should surely give it ago as all these 3 are stable and have a active community.

I'm sorry but i'd have to disagree with DOGE as an investment. It was just a joke coin and isn't really meant for investment. The price could collapse at any moment and it's not really too stable. Just my opinion.

Well I would go for Ven.
It has much lower volatility rate. And it doesn't mine out.

I'd like to add 2 coins that are under the radar, hardly mentioned or hyped in the forums, but are very organized, with growing communities, committed developers, and serious plans going forward, and have a good reputation as far as I know:
Dnotes:  has a news outlet, online vault which offers interest and insurance guarantee, and other initiatives.
Vericoin: POS coin with interesting dual blockchain technology (Verium & Vericoin) that may allow it to scale well in the future.

XVG, XLM and BURST. All showing good promise. Burst and Verge both with really low market caps can double or triple easily. Burst is really on the frontier of a "green coin" with a great community.

Siacoin is one that's recently caught some attention. Their based around cloud storage, and the currency is used when wanting to use their service. Definitely one to look out for.
My second choice would be Vertcoin, another sleeper. They have a dedicated dev team and they even have a roadmap of the new technologies / milestones they have listed and will achieve as they progress.

I think that if you are looking at a crypto-currency community you are wrong in how to search for what to invest on. Nowadays, community is near useless. My suggestion is to look at Poloniex and buy any coin there in a dip, and just wait without being too greedy.

BURST is a good coin especially if you are able to mine with your hard drives (as the SSD are the same as HDD when comparing mining burst)
I have been in conclusion that if we own lots of HDDs and that are just staying then it's better to power up and mine Burst.
OP i think that sia coin and some other "cheap" coins are rocking the cryptocurrency world.

Influxcoin seems to be a good coin to put in money bit by bit, adjusting for its swings.
