A latest news about 15 minutes ago I found at the social media with a video at TV direct mobile recorded ( CNBC news )
Thier was clearly mentioned that Bitcoin will be legalized , currently the Bitcoin unregulated and this will take about 6
Months to regulate with the new rules against the Bitcoin to control and stop the missuse in illegal activities .
So why not we should have positive thinking about the Bitcoin that have have good future and support by the many countries .

Probably in the country where i live, bitcoin is not accepted by the government.but there is no prohibition on the use of bitcoin and there are no binding rules for bitcoin at this time.
The absolute right is controlled by each individual bitcoin user.

What you have failed to do is to mention the country so it can be verified. The legality of bitcoin is something that will come sooner or later but what matters is what are the underlying effects that will come with that legalization as it relates to the freedom bitcoin is promising everyone. That is a question I would want answers to because government all over the world will not do anything without their own interest being protected.

They mostly don't have an interest regarding bitcoins, they only and always want publicity and does not care about things that might help the country.
There is no regulation regarding bitcoins though, we can even withdraw it at any banks that a certain wallet features, so basically it is better for us if they do not take any actions for bitcoin as they are tax free from them and does not yet considered ny them as a income or salary.

I'd say that in my country it is like semmi-legal as there are no strict rules about the cryptocurrencies in general. Bitcoin and altcoins are not banned but on the other way they are not allowed. It is nice to see that big countries are talking about bitcoin (specially Japan and now we see Australia might  legalized it) which gives other countries hope that it will be legalized there. When these big countries allow bitcoin, smaller ones will look at them and think should we make it legal now? Slowly but steadily thats whats happening here in my opinion which is great news not just for Bitcoin but for other cryptocurrencies as well.

It really is a good publicity especially with Japan and Australia which will make other countries to reconsider and to follow with the trend since these countries who are offcially legalizing and accepting Bitcoin are big deal with strong economic prowess.

Meanwhile in our country, it is not supported by the government really but they have released a regulation regarding it focusing on those local exchanges. Bitcoin users are also increasing here and we have this leading local wallet which has a lot of features including payment for electric, water, internet and even school bills from certain colleges and also you can cash out to a lot of remittance centers and convenience stores and cash in with kiosk machines. Also when you transfer bitcoins with the same wallet, there is no fees and you can use it to purchase some exciting things.

bitcoin will accepted day by day. just few days ago bitcoin legal in india. its big news for sarc country from there every country will accepted from sarc country.

I am glad to hear that Bitcoin is now considered as a legal tender or as an asset in your country. I am not familiar with your country or what specific law or order was issued but maybe your country is doing it because they feel that they need to have a share of the transaction tax and at the same time not be left behind by the blockchain revolution that can hopefully help your country becoming a seedbed for new blockchain-focused start-up (usually fintech) companies.

Right here in my country, there is still no particular legislation laid down for Bitcoin or cryptocurrency but our financial regulators are recognizing Bitcoin exchanger to be money changer which has been the basis for the Bitcoin service providers the license to do business. And this is quite fine with us. Bitcoin then became just like any other foreign currencies entering the country.

In my country you can do nearly everything with bitcoin.

The government where I lives declares bitcoin as a commodity which should be handled as a currency but is no currency  :D :D pretty stupid decleration from my point of view, but this means I can do everything with my BTC, except paying taxes, as long as I pay my taxes if I make profit in fiat currency (if I mine and get 10000€, I will have to pay taxes from the 10000€, but if I make 10BTC, I will just hav my 10BTC an I am not required to pay taxes on that)

I think this is currently the best thing that can be  ;D I am now mining some coins and when someday in the futute my gov sas hey you have to pay taxes on that, fine I can stop mining or if it is still profitable why not carry on ? But on the same day as my gov will ask me to pay taxes on my earned BTC, there will be some shops which accept my BTC and I can spend it  :)

Congratulations! There are still countries where Bitcoin is not legal as a currency. It will be impossible if they don't know nothing about Bitcoin. Maybe, they are still observing how will Bitcoin affect the countries wherein, it is legal. Maybe they are still studying how Bitcoin will positively affect a country, as a whole. The time will come that Bitcoin will be legal to most countries, as what people are demanding.

I am glad that various countries are coming forward and accepting Bitcoin as a legal tender. But along with that their rules and regulations are somehow killing the anonymity of Bitcoin because they will be regulating exchanges and hence the data of Bitcoin holders. But still when a country legalises something there is always an increase in demand because nation starts to trust that. The recent hike in price is all because of that.

it is a good news for us to know bitcoin is legal in your country so you and the other people can use bitcoin for free and without worried. i am sure that the other country will follow your country and that country will accepting bitcoin too. in the future, there will be many more country will know that bitcoin is a new technology that will give many benefits to that country.

Sounds great! I'm just curious though, what kind of regulations will your government make for Bitcoin? How will they avoid and alleviate the illegal activities? I hope they don't make restrictions that would hinder or deprive the Bitcoin users and owners in your country. In my country, Bitcoin is not technically accepted but rather it was recognized by the central bank. The government has also given warnings to the bitcoin users to be cautious of its use and other illegal activity, and to be wary of possible scams. Payment systems in the form of bitcoin is limited in my country.

I guess this would mean btc will soon be the next big topic on any world forums that would happen in time. Because from what i see, if btc will just be there on the loss then there will be chances that it can find some anti government groups. If the nation's knows this btc scheme on how it works, chances are not only government will take advantage to it.

If that the case, you seem to be contented about news on legalizing bitcoin in your country so I guess it's good. If I or my own country will implement it too, I will be happily abiding it and that is a promised. But let them sure and let them show some sincerity that they will do it for regulation and not for corruption purposes.

Lucky you :D. I have to wait about 5 or 6 years more to see Bitcoin accepted in my country. I saw the News yesterday and the Gorvenment said that they will accept Bitcoin and control Bitcoin in my country but not right now :)) Maybe in 2020 :))

I'm happy bitcoin will be legal in your country, bitcoin in my country still does not get more attention from the government even though it's been a lot of event and marketing about bitcoin. I'm not sure bitcoin will become legal in my country.

I am really glad for you that the country where I live has forbidden Bitcoin and then it is back to normal but it is very likely to be banned again and there is debate about tax evasion.

I'm not quite a news addict but based on what I observed, bitcoin here in my country is legal. And were both lucky for that. And I think here in my country, it was never been said illegal unlike in some of the country that banned bitcoin, debating on taxation etc., I guess our government see the value of bitcoin.

My country, the most people think BTC is scam or multilevel models. I so sad. but recently have positived change on how to think. Appear the cofee shops accepted payment with BTC. Many have bought Bitcoin for invested.

Its not yet accepted in my country but Im thankful for it.  This means no tax for non regulated currency hence more income.  I just hope I've already earned a lot in bitcoin before it is legalized in my country.

Two months ago the National Bank in our country declared bitcoin as illegal. The reason given was "Central Bank  is not able to track the transaction and is a high risk for going outward remittance for buying bitcoins than inward remittance."

I think this is a good policy for government in your country, and certainly with legality is able to open various business opportunities that can be applied with bitcoin, and bitcoin progress will continue to increase so as to bring a good economic change to everyone in your country.

Bitcoin is something that government can't escape or ban. Banning Bitcoin is way too difficult for government as it exists on internet and controlling its flow on internet is completely a waste of time and resources just like darkweb or torrent. I am glad many countries are legalizing it and this will in turn make it more popular and thus will increase the demand. Soon many countries will follow the suit.

In my country, the existence of bitcoin still exists in the gray area for legality.
The government asks bitcoin users or other digital currencies to be responsible for each.
So i, as a user of digital currency should be how, responding to government statements in my country?

Well, good for you man, that may be a great news for you because you seem to like it with such enthusiasm. Here in my country, bitcoins and other crypto currencies(altcoins) has not been legalized yet nor labeled as illegal by our government. It is not accepted by many but there are no laws or objections from the government or anyone about the use of bitcoins. And i would lke it to stay that way. I love how it is already. Sure it would be nice to have price increases along the way if it gets accepted by many countries. But the thing is, what if they put conditions in using it after legalizing it? Rules which may destroy the main ourpose of bitcoins and any other alternative coins out there? I surely wouldn't want that to happen.

Soon when release by government the Implementing Rules and Regulations(IRR) I hope your be contented still as taxes be available on that process. In my country everyone need to wait 2 more years to see Bitcoin legalized in here :))) But I don't know how you feel about it but I don't want this thing happen in my country cause we will have to pay tax for bitcoin income and my country always have the highest tax price in the world :(

If countries have high standards of living, they do not consider such bans, and if there is political impotence and unrest in the country you live in, people are starting to get tax evasion, and in these countries Bitcoin will never become legal.

Obiosly it is great news for Bitcoin lover in this country.I think everybody knows there are many countries announced Bitcoin is illegal but its stupid decision.Even i heard if someone uses a jail.

This is quite true with many countries...maybe the governments of these countries have not yet taken the time to analyze and do something with Bitcoin because Bitcoin is still not yet on their radar. here in my country, the government has already ruled that Bitcoin and all of cryptocurrency will be recognized the same as any foreign money under the law on remittance.

In Russia, people couldn't buy physical gold (only jewelry) to prevent the export of it. They could buy only unallocated accounts in gold\silver etc..
The same thing could be with Bitcoin. The government could forbid use bitcoin or any cryptoccurency as a currency to buy something.  They could ban use cryptocoins for purchases and allows only to use unallocated accounts in BTC.

Nope. There is a third category as well. It consists of countries such as India and Russia, where the usage of Bitcoin is neither legal nor illegal. The case with Russia is especially interesting. Some of the government officials are in favor of legalizing Bitcoins, but the vast majority remain opposed to that idea. This puts the Bitcoin-related activity in the grey zone, which is risky for the users.

Hi! The title of the thread seems to be misleading but that is a great news if indeed it is true! Imagine having Bitcoins freely flowing worldwide? What a feat! Nonetheless, I agree that governments must ensure the same is regulated so as to protect the people. It cannot just be allowed to keep flowing in and out without prescribing certain rules and regulations for it will definitely be used by criminals as a medium to proliferate their illegal causes.

It is as you said, legalization or not, Bitcoin is here to stay and will without fail, keep breaking even more barriers. As far as Bitcoin is concerned, legalization is not absolutely necessary, though when it is, it becomes easier for high networth individuals as well as corporate institutions to bring in their money with some level of assurance and expectation. These increase in demand of Bitcoin is actually what is the impressive value of Bitcoin.

The government in my country seems still to have taken a neutral stance on bitcoin. Banks in my country explain that bitcoin is neither a currency nor a payment's tool was legitimate, but it doesn't say that a digital currency (bitcoin) is illegal. And in my country just give a warned.. the country will not to be responsible or defence the risks that if bitcoin users got a problems on bitcoin transactions, (it's a risk for bitcoin users).

Exactly even I read the thread three times did not find his country name. I have not heard of any big country recently legalizing bitcoin. Most of the countries have an absolutely unregulated behaviour towards all the cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin in our country is not declared legal but not ban because our goverment officials are very busy of some political issues therefore we could enjoy the benefits of earning bitcoin without tax because if bitcoin is now a legal in your country it will implement a law that require bitcoin to be taxed then this will result to slight reduce of your earnings if tax will be going to impose. The fact that the government legalized bitcoin does not mean that the use of bitcoin illegal. You can use it as long as no explicit prohibition. For me always a mystery why people want legalization. You live badly if you don't pay taxes. I think people are not ready to be free and to dictate terms to the state.

Same here in our country in which bitcoin is not legal but not ban. This was maybe our government officials are very busy in their political career that their stable position is their priority than public service. We only can ensure that Bitcoin will be legalized in our country when we can use Bitcoin directly for payment in anywhere in our country. It's the same with my country, the government said that they are going to legalize Bitcoin in 2018 but only 1 month after that I saw the news on TV and it said that they would totally ban Bitcoin in the early of 2018 and anyone caught using Bitcoin would have to take criminal responsibility. Most of the industrialized nation has already take notice of bitcoin. However some of them are not yet making a stance because they needed more time to study what will be the impact of bitcoin in their economy. While countries such as Japan and Australia has legalized it, there are countries are moving a step back like China. So this will be a continues and upheaval battle for bitcoin and cryptocurrency. There will be side taken, but I'm sure that nobody can really stop bitcoin its either you are with it or against it.

Are you sure that bitcoin is legal in India? I have not heard that kind of news still now. And as per as some news in media I know that India is not going to make transaction with bitcoin to be legal.

Nice, it is good to know that some countries are planninh to legalized the use of bitcoin. But Im sure it will take some time to do it. In our country bitcoin is not legalized but is also not ban, so we are free to use and trade it.

As for me, I am settled with the status that we have at present: Not Illegal but Unregulated. Honestly, I am all for multiplying whatever Bitcoin I have on the assumption that its conversion to fiat currency does really good to my current economic status. If it will be legalized later on, there is nothing more I can do but be submissive to our laws. Hence, I will keep enjoying what it is at present and rip all benefits I can before it is too late in a day to invest in it. 

I fully support your opinion. I can not understand why so many people want the legalization of bitcoin. They do not understand that it will be a terrible moment. States could not justly dispose of the income from the state of the economy. The same thing they do with bitcoin. I think you need not yield to the proposals of legalization of bitcoin even if such proposals would do.

Still, we are waiting for the country announcement but in my counties some local government are preparing for blockchain offices in their concerned States but yet we don't have clear indication whether government are legalizing the Bitcoin.

In my country, the government still hasn't legalized bitcoin, because it's still visible that the government still learning more this new technology ie Bitcoin and Blockchain, they still do not really knowing more deeper and haven't really can managing / controlling, it still worrying about the risks to country's economic system.

Ask yourself a question that by saying it, you completely agree and are bound to follow all those "rules" that are needed in order to "regulate" bitcoins? I am completely satisfied on your stance about illegal activities to be stopped after this, but on the other hand, don't you think we are again going on the same path to becoming slaves of the government where we will need to give eachand every info of our transactions to them? Neither bitcoin is supported here, nor they are against it here in my country because it's going mainstream, so they are not talking it too much due to the fact that the more they will say anything about it, the more it will gain attention.

I bet that is the best day ever for bitcoin holders there but in my country,  our government seems like it doesn't impress them at all and giving warnings instead that it's not a good investment and I'm very worried that it will cause to a complete ban on btc but I hope they don't.

Honestly I am very jealous of you because in my country bitcoin is still a long debate. I'm with this which I don't know why people are rushing out for this thing to be considered or being implemented. I'm already solved out on this current situation same as you said its not illegal but unregulated which we can freely make our actions without worrying too much if we did able to make violations or not. Back in the past where my county doesn't recognize bitcoin too much which we can able to make transactions or activities without strict compliance or does have law but now when bitcoins price did able to reach out 20k usd they are trying to make warnings into the public even banks are being alarmed as of now.

With regards to our country, i guess Bitcoin is legal but not controlled by the government and I hope that it stays that way since I feel like its more at peace with this state. What is your country though , but it's awesome congrats , my country phillipines still not approved to be legalize because of the bad image that somehow bitcoin uses for illegal stuffs just "only" illegal stuffs. I think there are still people left who doesn't know about bitcoin , lack of knowledge through bitcoin industry.

in my country bitcoin is well known and popular but our government is not yet ready to legalized bitcoin. if time will come that btc is being legal in our country maybe it will have a tax and posebly its transaction fee also become higher.

I think there are many countries that are not legalized bitcoin yet but I think in the future, many governments will approve bitcoin as a new source for making money and will be legalized bitcoin to be a new way to solve finances problem. but if this is happening, I wonder if there any of tax that we need to pay for making a transaction with bitcoin.
