Title: ZEC / ETH Pools comparison
Post by: Toxa007 on June 21, 2017, 02:18:57 PM
Several days in a row I have decreased payments from Nanopool on ZEC.
I was wondering why it is so, and try to find statistics about mined blocks by pool by dates.
But I didn't find any.
There were just tables with records and charts by time. And I can't group it into dates.
So I made this tool for myself: https://poolstats.org
And I noticed that on 18th - 20th June Nanopool had less mined blocks then on 15th-17th June.
That was the problem :)

Probably my tool will be useful for someone else.
Feel free to tell, what pools statistics/comparison do you need and I'll try to add it if I can.

This is a nice project, you must've worked hard here.
What was used to create it? How would one learn how to create this? How much was coded/created from scratch?

I used Yii2 php framework, to create it.
You should read Yii2/SQL/API documentations, some books about php-programming, OOP, MVC, CSS/HTML, JavaScript/jQuery, Bootstrap and after that you can try to do it :)
All the project was coded/created from scratch, using the functionality that Yii2 gives to me.

PS: if someone likes project and find it useful, I don't mind if you'll donate a little to the wallets at the bottom of the site. So I can pay my hosting company and keep it online :)

good job with this +1

Thank you, glad to hear it :)

Good Job, please add donkey.bethemister.com

Done.
Now there are Top-5 pools on main page only.
To see smaller pools statistics go to "full list".

looks good but one question - shouldn't you get the same amount in the different pools?
if a pool has higher hash rate it can find more blocks but your amount of shares will be smaller than in a smaller pool where you have more shares - so overall the payout should be more or less the same, or am i wrong?

You are right, but in my case I saw that nanopool start to find less blocks then usual for several days, and for example flypool didn't in the same period.

So whats better in that case ? Flypool or Nanopool or even something smaller?
