Title: Switching from Windows to Linux
Post by: DevaVictrix on June 21, 2017, 06:19:41 PM
I've just bought a second computer and don't really want to buy another copy of Windows. So the obvious thing to do is use a Linux distro.

Will I have to download the Ethereum blockchain again or can I somehow copy the blockchain from my Windows computer?

Thank you!

You can definitely copy the blockchain over. But, this is only necessary if you are solo mining. With only 2 rigs, you should be pool mining.

You can download the original iso from Microsoft.com and install without activating any license. You'll be able to use W10 indefinitely with irrelevant limitations.
