I have chosen a lot of good coin for long-term investment. And i remember already generated a lot of the profit through them all. The list of my portfolios is Iconomi, Bancor, Stratis, Ethereum, Golem and Lisk.
I remember some still tried to release the SDK such as lisk as result of the project development. That means there is a reason to hold lisk in this time. If the result of the development will be released to the public and BOOM! just like a nuclear for the outside.

My majority of investment is BTC and the other altcoin are LTC, ETHm Zcash and dash and the other altcoins from top 20
but i am still waiting for a good ICO coin which is a good background and good opportunity to replace other altcoin in top 20 in coinmarketcap rankings..

Im sure about that people who invested on alts are keep looking to coinmarketcap since it can give proper stats on which coin is best to invest with and what is happening on some tops alts around and maybe their best selection for now is Bitcoins and certain choice's will be the ETH,ETC,Waves and strat since I've seen and followed their greatness this time around and yet they are quitely profitable for long time stake.

Guys, why don't you share with us reasons why are you choosing an coin and on what are your expectations are based? Don't posts list of coins, because this is not helpful without additional text. It is very nice to see different opinions, for the same projects.

The list of coin already give all a pretty good idea of where to start. Sort out some repeatedly referred coin and check their particular ANN post to study and get more details. Every person need to do some homework before investing in particular coins. Reasoning can be different from person to person so you cannot really rely on others to invest your money :)

I've found people listing there coins to be very helpful. The fact that the coins I've invested in are listed many times gives me some comfort as a newbie that I'm on the right path. Thanks everyone for posting your list. here is my list, if anyone has any suggestions I'm willing to listen.

EHT - to big project to be writen here, but I think that is enought to say that too many corporation and banks are sponsors and in deep development of
aplications for ethereum, all that project, aplications, tokens eth to work will use small amounts of eth to work in ethereum network, so if there is milions
or trilions of alications that every day use even small amounth of eth in future there will be big need for eth...
NETKO - is pos coin with for now cheap coins with good annual interest and you will hardly lose any dolar on them because have very stable market,
if in future only one big exchange add netko you will be rich just from annual incomme...
RIPPLE - too many banks wants ripple, and not hard to calculate that there will be something good for us from that :)

You can easily figure out trending coins in the crypto market buy looking at the portfolio of investors and sort out the most common coins. As far I know, bitcoins are the most common and reliable coins. After them eth and altcoins are on the list. Always do proper research before investing into any coin so that you may not regret your decision later.

Not really risky mate. These are all for long-term goals. Ripple is also good for medium term. This list is much better than investing on shitcoins that are shitter than shits. Aside from the list I have Stratis and Siacoin. But the advice is really to dig deeper into the background of each coin. It will really help anyone who invests on alts.

QRL - i was in as soon as it hitted bittrex i tooked it at 0.000300 then it went up ner to 0.001, i did't sell and like a stupid during the slowdip i bough more at 0.0005, then i sold it at around 0.00040 and bought back at the bottom (0.00011) waiting for a big rise, the project it's really good, small ico, continue development, just a lack of marketing and a problem with one of the team, but finally a really good project, it will be big after september with the Genesis block coming

XVG - i bough at 0.00000116 at the bottom of the bigger july dip, i can't figure out why it's still down, however really good team, continue development, strong roadmap, so it's just a matter of when it will explode

SHIFT - bought at 0.00025, as for XVG , same analysis

ANS - bought too late at 0.0034, nice project, good purpose, good development, chinese traction what else?

For now I only have bitcoins and ether, but I am looking into diversifying soon into new crypto-currencies and tokens.
