Title: transaction before wallet syncs?
Post by: jrlepage on May 07, 2013, 01:12:10 PM
Quick question:

Let's say you download a wallet (in my case mincoin-qt) and start to sync. You copy an address out of the wallet and give it to someone to receive a payment (in my case a giveaway). They send you 2 MNC, and a few hours later your wallet finishes syncing.

Is there a reason why your transaction still wouldn't be showing up??

In other words, if you receive a transaction at a wallet address before your wallet has finished its initial sync, does that screw up any transactions you receive in the meantime??

Thanks

No it should mess up something ... The transaction is independent on your synchronized client.

No, you can receive transactions just fine when your wallet is synching, but they won't necessarily show up until synching is complete. Normally I would say check the transaction on a block explorer, but for mincoin, I don't know if there is such as thing.
