Title: Which coins are good for a passive income?
Post by: hoolio on June 22, 2017, 05:19:02 PM
Which coins to stack to get good returns? Not talking about a price increase of a coin itself, that's another topic.

I really like Burstcoin at the moment. Decentish returns, easy to mine on any PC (it uses hard disk space). Slight learning curve to get it going but then it's set it going and forget about it.

PIVX masternodes or even staking though at these prices it would take a while to get a return on your investment.

Litecoin is one of the coins that will have a good passive income. Bitcoin is another though since we are only discussing Altcoins I would recommend reading up on Litecoin since development on that coin is going on right now and the developer is getting serious about making the transactions for LTC much faster/easier to use for the new peeps.

It's hard to determine which one is the best, of course the price can be stable and not quickly drop more for its own interest, because klau fast down will many loose.

How does litecoin provide passive income?   I don't fully understand proof of stake, but those coins essentially provide a dividend for just holding them,  right?   And as ltc is nothing of the sort, it doesn't provide any income whatsoever and thus is a bullshit answer.  Unless I'm missing something.

It's a nice concept but somehow I think not a lot of folks derive much 'income' from these things.

Burstcoin is ok, but I tried mining and my laptop is just not up to it not enough power, so I gave that up.

If you expect a passive income from a coin, you make a huge mistake. Just saying. Never go for a coin for passive income thing.

Passive income means one time you invest and should expect a regular profit from it. But investing in any coins will not give you any assurance that you will always make a profit because there are chances that your coins may go down and sometimes may need wait for few months or year to recover those losses.

You ask about a good coin for investment but excluding the price increase? How do you trust a coin by relying on stagnant prices, prices rise and fall are very influential in the selection of the currency itself.
Perhaps the step you should take is to look at the development of the currency you are targeting and stay there for the moment. From him because there is no one coin that does not decrease.

Passive income? I dont think it would be done on every coins we do know since we wont know what direction they would go either on increasing or decreasing way. All of us traders and investors of crypto still finding way to earn money even not on passive income because its nearly impossible for me unless if theres a coin that always increase and not tend to decrease but seeing on most coins in the market we wont see such coin for sure. No easy money on this cryptoworld mate.

All the coins produce passive just time and when it gets its can not be specified.
It's all just with the market price increase so we can get passive difference in price increase.
Only time can determine it

All the coins with markets capitalization of over $20,000 is "good for a passive income" what you just need to do is learning on how to make investment at the right time and when to sell them. Coins flipping is another great areas you can make great passive income.

Correct,it can still be considered as passive but time would really tell on when you would able to get your profits on putting up money on that coin. You are still doing nothing but you are just waiting for its price to increase none other than that.As you said only time can determine it and this is the toughest part because we wont know on when it would happen.

You won't be getting passive from any coins you stack. The price of crypto-currency is not stable, so no guarantee of getting a stable passive profits. All you can do is day trade, and try to make some profits in short time. Still no guarantee of making profit.

I think you can do more better if you can stack for the small coins like 888, 808  , sprt etc .
These are those coins where you can make big profit ( I made 30% ) in the month in poswallet.com but about a month
The coin get delisted , and also price get dropped .
So here I will suggest you to go small profit with better coins .
Just download the wallet of the BCC coin in your PC and then put your coin in the wallet after that one month ( maximum )
Maturity you will start to make 7-15% per month ( in a particular month I made 32% ) , but also depends upon the networks of the transaction .
Here in my opinion this is best and riskless way of making money .

There is an incredible amount of signature spam in this thread, very sad to see.  :(

The OP asked a very interesting and specific question about coins that have the potential to produce "passive income" and you guys are replying with shit like "Litecoin!"  ::)

Litecoin is a fantastic coin, but it is a POW coin, do most of you even know what that means!?

The OP is obviously asking about POS coins that produce a passive income simply by holding them in your wallet and "staking them".

@OP I would consider looking into Bitbeans.

No sig spam here. I will say that a coin with temporary sliding high PoS interest, low satoshi purchase cost, and under the radar would fit the bill. Just growing with Inflation might be the way to go for this second half of 2017.

When Bitcoin died, an altcoin will replace it as ETH, LTC, DASH, XMR or ZEC, they are have potential can replace Bitcoin if it have issue. Special ETH you can see in past days, the price of ETH can't affected by bad news hacker attack Coindash ICO - a project use Ethereum for platform blockchain

Yes, I agree with you. Litecoin also has faster transaction confirmation times and increased storage efficiency compared to the leading mathematical-based currencies. With the support of large industries, trading volume and liquidity, litecoin is a proven medium in commerce that complements bitcoin.

There is no passive income in altcoins or coins because their price is not fixed and they are very volatile
You can earn or loss in a short or long period of time so passive income is not advisable for this market
Unless you will afford a node that will give you share per day or per week, depending on their rules.

There's no passive income, you should do something to get income. Investment, trading or else you must do some research to know which one is the best for you. Calculate profit and risk for stop loss strategy and read some books for knowledge. No easy way to get income, try and fail is what we deal with it. For coin I suggest only monero, for me this coin has stable volume and price action. Good luck.

That correct, the price is volatile and it does only move in uptrend situation, you can make money only if you have set a selling amount
where you can sell for profit. Timing is what you need, don't expect a passive income because it's not possible here, maybe try to invest
outside crypto.

Passive income means like daily or monthly income, You will not know coins that has a passive income better you go for longterm if you want income but if you want daily or monthly income you will need a big capital for short term trading then choose the coin thas has a high volume or shakey movement of value but it's risky if you stuck just watch the price and sell whenever you feel comfortable.
But for me the best coins for passive income are DGB, XRP, STR and SC so when you stuck you'll feel safe because it will pump soon.

It's very hard to earn passive income through altcoins because volatile of altcoins and anytime unexpected news might be happen that leads to up and down for certain altcoins. Thoughl, there are also long term coins like Ethereum you might consider to invest.

where you can sell for profit. Timing is what you need, don't expect a passive income because it's not possible here, maybe try to invest
outside crypto.

Right. For making profit with coins you should work hard every day and analyze a lot of information. It's uncomfortable "passive income".

Which coins to stack to get good returns? Not talking about a price increase of a coin itself, that's another topic.
No there are no the altcoins like that, even the edinar coin that can gives the coin will not survive for long time, in my opinions if you want getting passive income, trading altcoins are good choice to getting passive income if you can find the strategy of trading altcoins that can get activate profit from trading altcoins, there are no easy way to get passive income in cryptocurrency.

This is real truth that we can make money in the stacking instead to get involved in the mining , because in my we need zero investment after our hardware system but in the stacking we need to out our money in the wallet during the stacking so that we can make a better amount of return with % 5-10% .
Here one of my friend is making money with stacking about 400-500$ , He is saying that the most better wallet is BCC wallet stacking , after that 808 coin , 888 coin and also there are few coins which are profitable but BCC is more better currently but you need to wait to mature your stacking process ( one month plus ) .

If you want a passive income just try the ethereum, because ethereum is one of the respective altcoins in crytocurrencies world. However, there were some coins that want to stepped up among ethereum but they were still in below.

Ethereum isn't good for passive income because their volatile behavior and you may suffered with loss. Although Ethereum is cheap right now, you have to be careful about where to invest your money and not be fooled with other member.

This not only for ETH but all of the coins out there on the market. We do know their volatility and thats really been always part of the risk involve on putting money on cryptoworld. I cant really pinpoint which coins does generates profits for monthly income since there isnt no guaranteed movements anytime on anycoins. I would only advice on bitcoin doing short tradings will somehow give you decent profits but depending on how you do trade. I love the price of bitcoin because it moves too much and even a small percentage movement will already considered that i has really a healthy market between sellers and buyers and we should really make an advantage of it.

Tenx (pay) provides a monthly distribution.  Nothing substantial but I don't know of other coins that provide passive income on a regular schedule.

Seeing some people are pretty sceptical about passive income coins. Its nothing new at all. Its just dividend paying stock. Anyone with GE-stock has a passive income stock.

In the end, a better performance of the stock (i.e. Apple) is worth more. If you constantly cash out dividends to make a living its a different case.

i think it will be bitcoin, ethereum, litecoin, dash, monero, waves, neo, kmd, and several coins but i think if you can stick with those top ten from coinmarketcap, i think its enough to make you get passive income. i think there many more coins that will help you to reach passive income but for now i think you need to be patience first because the altcoin price is not going to somewhere higher than before so if you have more money, maybe you can thinking to add more amount in your wallet while the price is cheap.

I think thread author would mean passive income without doing anything, so without running a masternode or a portfolio that staking because there are too many coins to point out and there are already many open threads.

Among the coins you can get an income without doing anything I can tell you:

1) Neo generating Gas
2) Lisk and Ark, Dpos coins where you vote a delegate in a pool and receive every day / week other coins
3) Taas, Iconomi and Coss, coins generating dividends as funds; just keep in your portfolio and get dividends every week, month, quarter

actually almost all coins cant do a passive income and they wont stack succesively because all of them are just plain volatile, cryptocurrencies are volatile that means they are always fluctuating and wont become stable or give you an progressive results. though some of the coins are have potential to give you a profit like bitcoin and bitcoin cash.

There are kinda choice of coins you can pick from

1) POS
2) Revenue Sharing
3) Others

POS are coins that you can actually stake in your wallet.
Revenue sharing are coins that share profit for holding the coins.

I guess passive income might be something that you are looking to hold the coin and generate profit right.
Coss should be something you would want to look at.
It pays Weekly revenue :)

My favourite project right now is Crowdholding. It is a co-creation platform that tries to connect the crowd with the startups. You sign up very easily, you make some comments on the projects you like and get rewarded for your comments. Check it out :) https://www.crowdholding.com/project/

Almost all POS coins, but especially Minex and Taas is good for passive income.
With Minexbank you can park your Minexcoins daily, weekly or yearly and get stakes.
With Taas you can get dividend as Ethereum every 3 months.

Any coins with masternodes or proof of staking have the ability to generate passive income. There are also projects which directly offer dividends to holders of the coins.

For a list of masternodes, I've provided a good resource website below.

https://masternodes.pro/

Often these require large holdings of the coin/token and can therefore be expensive to start up. There's a list of how much you can generate on a daily/weekly/monthly/annual basis also on the website listed. So you can get an idea if it would be worth your time and investment to do this for each of the projects.

Proof of stake is often easier for people getting started and include projects like Neo and ark. If you are already holding any of the coins that do this, it's often as easy as transferring the coins to the wallet and just letting them sit...so really why would you not.

The AMB is a good long term investment. Solid project, solid names (Bussmann, Drake - advisors), backed by the U.N and is trying to solve a real worldwide problem of counterfeit drugs and food safety.
