Title: Wallet Q, from a newbie Post by: maJes--ty on June 23, 2017, 01:13:55 PM Hi, I'm relatively new to this, and -- after a few days of getting lost, dazed and confused -- finally managed to download a wallet, the Electrum wallet. I then transferred some of my bitcoins from the online exchange to my wallet.
My wallet is in my MacBook doc, but I also put a copy of the wallet on my external hard drive (cold storage). Question .... Is it safe for me to simply delete the wallet in my MacBook doc. I assume it is, but since I'm so green and tech-phobic, I just want to make sure.[/font] [/b][/i] Thanks, maJesty Title: Re: Wallet Q, from a newbie Post by: felco on June 23, 2017, 01:18:58 PM Yes. You don't need to ran the Wallet to receive bitcoins, only if you need to send it.
I would test the backup before deleting tough. Title: Re: Wallet Q, from a newbie Post by: DannyHamilton on June 23, 2017, 03:56:29 PM Electrum should provide you with a set of "seed words" that it can use to rebuild your entire wallet. As long as you have those seed words securely stored somewhere, you should be ok.

And save in the folder or make it rar with encrypted password and save in drive d or external drive it would be safe for a long time just make a 2 copy for drive d of your computer and external drive. |
