Title: Few questions before building new mining rigs
Post by: Cereberus on June 24, 2017, 06:50:08 PM
I am having a lot of fun and making a decent amount of bitcoin monthly with my mining rigs, thanks in majority to the things I learned during my stay in this forum. All my mining rigs consist of corsair 1000watt gold plus power supply and 5 graphic cards.

Question 1
I want to build a few mining rigs with Biostar TB250 Pro BTC with 6 cards so my question will a Corsair 1000watt rm1000i for example do the job also with 6 cards ? I have Be quiet Darkpower zone pro 1200 watt platinum but I see it has less connectors then Corsair rm1000i and I am afraid to buy it for 395 Euro, the cost of it in my country.

Question 2
I see that when I make a board with only rx 480 for example the MSI afterburner recognize all cards but once I try to make a board with 2 GTX 1070 and 3 Rx 480 MSI afterburner only recognizes the card/s which are installed first for example since I have gtx 1070 in my pcie 3.0 it only recognizes these 2 cards and I can move the fan speed etc, it also show the rx cards but everything is 0 and I can't move anything. What can be a work around so I can move the fans of all cards ?

I know that for a fact an RM1000i will power at least 5 GTX 1060 3GB and 1 GTX 1070.

My RM850i does 6 GTX 1060 3 GB. 859 watt in and 760 watt out.

Well that's a good partly answer, I cannot obviously power 6 RX 580 there but surely I can power 6 RX 570 without problems. Great to know.

I still need an answer for question 2 though.

they are different card use the saved profile tool to have a faster option for your fan, and yes about the second question a 1000watt will handle 6 gpu with little downclock

I can't use the saved profile tool. The MSI afterburner only recognizes the first card which is installed, in my case the Nvidias. Ati cards show 0 everywhere and the buttons are disabled, I cannot do anything about them. My cards are Gigabyte, can I for example download a special program from Gigabyte to make the fans spins faster, there are a few boards in just a room so the room temperature is pretty hot ?
